Great spot with river views good coffee and a great menu, not as good last time I visited which was a while ago. Had the fish tacos which were delicious but could have used some chilli. Water brought to the table wasn't filtered which was disappointing as it wasn't very drinkable. Coffee was awesome but the chocolate brownie... had coconut. Really? Coconut overpowered the hazelnuts that I could see. Ah well,
I’ve been here a few times before and the food and service was good. But I think it is now under new owners and I was not impressed with the slow service and the crispy fried eggs and crispy bacon. But that’s just me. However I went for a walk along the cliffs and it is beautiful as ever. For walking enthusiasts this is a nice area along the river and you can walk all the way to Fremantle.
The tasting plate is delicious and always fresh. Went on the weekend, and I had an allergy to some topping they put on the dip, so they gave me another with no topping. The best service.Food: 5/5
We went for breakfast with a big group this morning. The food was amazing! Highly recommended for a breakfast spot. The cafe was cozy and warm, the service was great and the menu has lots of options. The cafe has river views and a kids playground just outside. Kid-friendliness: Playground outside, if you request a table by the playground you have a full view of it from your seats. The kids breakfast options were good.
Not air-conditioned but has split-open windows that push-up/pull-down for ventilation with ceiling fans, so probably unideal on a day of extreme heat. We visited on a not so hot Monday 3rd Jan Public Holiday where there was a 15% surcharge. Ordered 5 dishes to share between 5 adults and a toddler along with 4 beverages and paid just under $200, probably on the pricey side for a casual meal at a cafe/restaurant but understandable in the current climate of lack-of-staff with forever hiking pay-rise to keep existing staff. Steak sandwich $25 was awesome and by far a standout dish that we'd definitely go back for. Warm Thai Beef Salad $25 was drenched in sauce which would normally be fine by me but unfortunately far too salty in my personal opinion, and too warm of a dish on a summer day - would not order again. Fish and chips $24 was on par with expectations, did not disappoint but not a standout either, and would probably order again as a share plate with a toddler. Tomato based Linguini? $21 topped with feta? was a rather disappointing dish, despite being a descent serving, the flavours were neither here nor there and would never order again. Ceasar salad $20 with salt pepper squid add-on for $6 was very dry and visually unappetising, and only had 4-5 pieces of squid, which definitely was not worth the money and would never order again. Mango smoothie $7.9 with orange juice replacement as they ran out of mango nectar was a toddler favourite but overpriced for the simple blend of mango, ice cream and oj, and did not reorder despite a "more" request from the toddler. Also visited the kiosk next door, operated by the same kitchen on the other end for takeaway only, to order $5 flat-whites, which was more like a 20% surcharge on a $4.2 drink, and the coffee was so weak that it tasted very bland and diluted - undrinkable and would never order again. Overall, wouldn't visit again if I had the luxury of time to pack some picnic food/drinks, and in the unlikely event of a revisit, would stick to just a cold beer with a steak sandwich.
Have been to this cafe in the past and food was lovely . Not sure if it has changed hands but the food was cold and we felt nauseated for the rest of the afternoon. I was annoyed that a simple thing like checking the temperature of the food wasn’t done before being served . The servers were very friendly but the service was slow . Beautiful view of the Swan River though
Ordered the steak sandwich and the spicy carrot. Steak sandwich and chips were luke warm at best and the spicy carrot never arrived. After enquiring after the status of the spicy carrot we were told it was not on the order and then to top it off, they had no carrots! Won’t be back, completely rubbish!Food: 1/5
Beautiful Cafe, Beautiful Location, Beautiful Food and Beautiful Service! What more could you ask for? The waitress' at this cafe were accomodating and welcoming from the beginning to end. There was a wide range of different menu items that could suit people of all food specifications. Had a fair amount of seafood options which was very fitting for the lovely area we were in. My partner had the fettuccine, which was absolutely creamy and to die for. And I had the veggie stack which was amazing. We shared the bruschetta which was a nice addition to our lunch, very refreshing and light. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a lovely breakfast or lunch
High quality food with the view of Swan River, we enjoyed our time here! The best thing is that the playground is just outside the window, you can see your kids and also enjoy a moment of peace
Beautiful location and food okay just a little unloved in the restaurant as tables need a good spruce up and general clean, service okay, Lacks personality in cafe We had the Fish & Chips which was really good but the Tartare sauce wasn’t authentic just an eggy mayonnaise The waitperson swapped it out for an aioli which was better We came as was listed as dog friendly on google but unfortunately NOT A DOG FRIENDLY CAFE. Big sign up on path entry to cafe saying no dogs past this point!
