It has its good and bad points. It’s a nice spot to sit. Most of the staff are absolutely lovely and they work hard but with variable skill sets. The food options are very limited though and because of that the tiny number of healthy dishes start to become alarmingly repetitive very quickly, a real worry in this day and age. I think things are stuck a bit in the late 1990s early 2000s and the menu in particular needs a shake up urgently. The drink options are pretty good. Everything is expensive but you expect that this far away from major cities.
Average place to eat. We had the Grilled Swordfish with Asian vegetables tasty and Gourmet Beef Burger average. Staff nice and service quick. We were seated even without a booking Tue. No menu on the website that's why I attach it here. May 22
I was surprised how much of a nice experience I had here. Considering some of the reviews I had a couple of waiters help me one to the table straight away and another went to check on how long was the wait on food, and if they had any vegan meals left. The restaurant was pretty busy, but you could still hear the music. It was really clear who was the manager on the floor. A gentlemen of an Indian decent. He was very professional, focused and visible to quickly help his stuff or take an order if they were busy. The food came out actually quickly, 10-15 min, just like they said. The menu has multiple vegan options and even a vegan dessert! It was good, and I actually though the price was ok too.
Tapas + Wine were a great combo, and much cheaper than the buffet. If you're not after a big meal, but Tapas that were generous and filled me up, then Walpa is the way to go sitting near the bar.
There’s a limited choice of vegan food here, but it’s nice. It’s a bit pricey but I suppose they have a captive audience with people staying at the hotel. The main reason for the 4 star review are the staff. They are polite, welcoming, friendly and attentive but not in an intrusive way. A pleasant experience.
Best place for a quick lunch or dinner and is located in the Sails in the Desert hotel. Had the curry of the day, Wagyu burger, mushroom parpadelle and prawn & mango salad. Curry was a bit dry but other meals were great! Other reviews said service was bad, did not find that to be the case.
Good food and cocktail options - The wattle seed espresso martini was fabulous. However, it is expensive for the service you receive. Long waits, small portion sizes and the waiter assuming we would like the water priced at AUD 10.50 without giving us an option. However, the charge was taken off the bill when questioned. Nothing special about the place that I'd like to revisit for.
Great place for lunch, relaxing and yet comfortable. The food is good and love their tapas such as potato prawns and calamari. Service is top notch as well, with complimentary water provided
The food was good but the proportions were not the best. Ask for tap water if not they'll serve you a $10.50 bottle of still bottled water. I was kind of ticked off by that, I did speak to them to get that off my bill which they did. However, it's something they should ask I'd say. I found the whole menu exorbitantly priced. I think the class it provides doesn't deserve the price you pay. That's completely my opinion. The prices definitely needs a review. The 3 stars are purely for the ambience and quality. IMFO it is worth a meal if it's about $40 per person including 1 drink and meal. Currently, an entreè main and a dessert with a drink will cost you on an average about $55 excluding drinks. The wattle seed Espresso Martini is really good. Definitely try it!
This place was really poor. First we weren't acknowledged when we rocked up which should have been the first sign. Next the waitress didn't take a drinks order. The food took a long time to come out considering the place wasn't busy. The meals were expensive for the quality of the food and there is much better places in the resort. The food had no real flavour. I had the tandoori sliders. Very average. My friend had the fish which was probably cooked two or three times as it was drier than the NT desert. The salad was badly wilted with signs of black. This place was absolutely disgusting. We were never approached to ask how our meals were. Avoid at any cost!!! For the price they charged and for the quality of other places we have been too. I expected much better. Upon speaking to the waitress on the quality she just smiled and said sorry. There was no I'll speak to the manager or we will compensate you for the meal.
