For a place to stay in Nhulunbuy it's pretty good. The beds are getting a bit old and the place is certainly dated, but there is an element of old charm in that. Bathrooms are renovated, grass is green, pool is clean and the food and drinks at the restaurant are good. No complementary tea/coffee and milk in rooms though.Rooms: 3/5

Great place to hang out with friends and create new ones DJ Friday nights. Pokies. And live sport on the TV. Walkability: Depends on how much you've drank. There is a taxi rank available. Food & drinks: Reasonable pub meals. The restaurant is little more up market.
We stayed a week to explore and experience East Arnhem land, where our expectations were more than met. Lodge was well presented with our room being very clean. Food menu was adequate and covered our needs, inclusion of pasta and curry dishes would be helpful. Staff were very professional.
I’ll start by saying, the first in counter with a staff member as we walked into the lobby to check in. That should of been the time i turned around i found somewhere else to stay. No hello, how’s your day going Or even a smile. That was the start of the hospitality service, that this motel was going to offer me. Throughout the stay I felt uncomfortable. When I entered the dining/bar room to get a drink at one point around lunch time to go have a nice time around the pool. I was greeted by a lady that just said “ WHAT DO YOU WANT”. There was many other things I could list off but I’m going to finish with. PLEASE… take my advice and never EVER book a room at the walkabout hotel you will regret it. I’m in the hospitality trade and I run a few venues and I am thinking buying the surf club around the corner, and show them what real hospitality service looks like.
DO NOT ENTER!!!! Wow, I’ve never in my life been treated so low I flew in to this beautiful town for work on the 20/04/2022 fifo and that day I went to support the local Tavern witch was amazing, bar staff, security, Cold beer, food. All was beautiful until this evening 23/04/2022 I was enjoying my evening with coworkers and the great friendly staff until I was met by the most aggressive, rude, unfriendly English man working behind the bar. This man had zero manners, zero people skills, how this man has a job in hospitality I will never know. I am a great supporter of regional towns and establishments. Unfortunately I will never recommend this establishment to anybody and will encourage everyone I know to stay away from this establishment. Such a shame.
It wasn't a bad place to stay. The steaks were good. Meals were inconsistent between days.Rooms: 3/5
Friendly staff. Good beers. Good feed. Had pizza and barra. Both very good.Service: 5/5
Lovely staff. The rooms are typical hotel rooms and the pool and restaurant/bar is a good place to relax and eat out. It seems to be a popular spot.
I had the grilled barramundi with chips and it was cooked very nicely. The portion was generous. The wait staff was friendly and polite. If your staying in Gove I would recommend visiting here for dinner.
