We stayed here for a month and it was perfect for us.We had a large one bed apartment, with good kitchen facilities, a 4 hob cooker and large fridge.We ate in and out on a 50/50 basis. Often we took our food to the roof terrace to watch the sun disappear over western Sydney. The staff were really good and friendly, they helped and nothing was too much trouble. A 30 minute walk can get you to either Darling Harbour or the Fish market, which is a must for lunch.Broadway is 5 minutes away, and you can get a bus to anywhere in Sydney from there.Central train station is easy to get to, as is Redfern. Spice Alley is a few minutes away and worth a visit. Rooms: Clean room, one bedroom and a sofabed. We had the kids big kids!! stay over a few times. Nearby activities: Spice Alley, good food and inexpensive. Paddy's market is about 15/20 minutes away. Good for gifts, fresh fruit & veg, as well as a food mall. Safety: Felt very safe, not just here but all over Sydney. Walkability: Sydney is hilly, but you can avoid the hills if you plan your journey. I walked everywhere, mostly pushing a wheelchair.
Great location but this place is far from the advertised photos on the website. The photos are years ago. The room we had was dirty, sliding door locks don't latch, pool is freezing, spa doesn't work, in room safe doesn't work. Getting extra towels was not easy. Lastly, one of the bed donnas had a big brown stain on it. Housekeeping is terrible and the actual housekeepers have no idea. If you want a cheap place to stay in a great location and are not fussy, this would do. Would I stay again, yes if the place got a bit of a Reno and the new staff are hired that actually care.

Just perfect for a family with limited budget in Sydney. The staff is amazing. They even let us use an empty room to shower in the evening before our onward flight after check out and kept our luggage!Rooms: 5/5
The staff here are absolutely wonderful - very accommodating and attentive. They create a really nice familiar atmosphere. Any concerns are addressed efficiently and rooms are as to be expected for the age of the building and the rates in Sydney. It’s not a five star hotel, but it’s a very good option when considering affordable accommodation. Nice location just at the edge of the CBD. Secure underground parking is extremely convenient. The Cafe downstairs, Usual Place, has a nice energy, good coffee and rotating pasty selection.
Given the difficulties of finding reasonable, affordable accommodation in walking distance of city and central tourist spots, especially for 3 people, the room was excellent. It wasn't 4 or 5 star but it had everything we needed. For a city apartment short stay, it was adequate size with a separate bedroom with comfortable clean mattress. Fold out double sofa bed could easily sleep two small people or one big teen, not sure if it was comfortable but I didn't hear complaints. It's a little run down and old school, but well equipped, internet, good TV screen. A bit noisy as on the busy main road but it didn't bother us as we were so tired from site seeing. The reception staff are pretty good and friendly. I love that it had ALL white goods, got to wash clothes and dry towels. The linen for the sofa lounge is already made up. The Usual Place cafe downstairs has awesome coffee and the bakery two doors down is the best baked goods. If you like walking around and on a medium budget, this is the place. Walkability: 10 to 30 minutes walk to City, Harbour, Sydney Uni, St. Mary church, markets etc
Odd place, but perfectly adequate. A big summer storm rolled in the night that I stayed there, and I sat on the balcony of my room watching the traffic in the rain, and the pedestrians scurrying out of the Dojo next door into their vehicles after Karate training. Very nice memory. I wish I took photos.

This place is an absolute gem!!! So close to everything, you can walk, or get light rail. I widh I had known about this place on previous Sydney stays. The staff are so friendly, especially Phil. Thank you to everyone that works here! Definitely will recommend to friends! Rooms: Rooms are great. Ours had its own kitchen. Nearby activities: Lots of stuff to do nearby Walkability: Walking distance to everything Food & drinks: Perfect Cafe located on the outside of hotel. The acai bowl is superb! My daughter had the chicken skewers. Hats off to the chef!
Really nice place to stay, the pool, sauna and fitness are perfect to relax after a good day. Very clean and confortable. Staff really nice and helpful.Rooms: 5/5
