Great scenery. Perfect for nature lovers. Wear the right shoes for tramping. Photo taken from the deck of a cabin that I believe gets rented by groups when required Nice and secluded. Walkway for the cabin is off to the right when taking the Ridge Rd track on Anawhata Rd.

. (11/2017) A beautiful park. Good amenities. Well maintained. Awesome views. The directions provided by Google maps to reach this location by following Anawhata road are wrong and you may get stuck on a gravel road with no exit. The actual park location is pretty different and away from Anawhata road.

Very quiet and peaceful, but if you are a fan of feeding The birds don't expect them to be in the area and if they are there they won't come close.

A great place to see the beauty of Waitakere ranges with wonderful information on the native wildlife and fauna.

Please do not come into this park. There is a rahui placed on it to protect our kauri trees from dying. Kauri dieback is spread through people moving soil when they walk, and it takes just a pinhead of infected soil to kill a tree. These trees are some of the most ecologically important in the reserve. So do your part and keep away to protect the forest for the future.
