Wow What a magical and beautiful place to stay. Right in the heart of Queenscliff. The Turret Room was outstanding with views to die for. The Rooftop bar was fantastic. The food was exceptional. The Brie and so I was told the Mussels were like heaven in the restaurant. Highly recommend staying there. Only suggestion is if you don’t like climbing stairs then this is not the place.
Queenscliff is a bit of a sleepy town. Everything stops by 8.30pm. The Vue Grand was a very nice place to stay & eat. We had a room with a spa bath, and a separate shower. It was really nice. Pleasant and efficient service. Bistro is good quality.
We were in Queenscliff with friends for the Blues Train on a Saturday night so staying at the Vue Grand was very convenient, a short walk from the railway station. It's a beautiful historic hotel which has been well maintained. Our room was large with a very comfortable king size bed. The shower was a little cramped but had plenty of hot water. There was no provision to hang clothes. It was a cold weekend but the room heating was more than adequate. The hotel was locked up when we returned from the train at about midnight but our room keys also opened the front door of the hotel. The hotel does not provide breakfast but there are plenty of cafes nearby that open for breakfast. We had to park on the street but this appears to be quite secure in Queenscliff.
Stayed here for a romantic weekend . The location is good and the building is beautiful however the room was a huge disappointment. Firstly it was very expensive for what it was and the bathroom was dirty with dead bugs, clearly hadn’t been attended to recently. The windows were not locked and opened out onto the street, the window top, where you would assume the lock latch was, is out of reach, we didn’t realise this until out of office hours. I’d suggest the rooms are worth about $150 a night, not the $260 they were charging. I expected a lot more.
The Grand Old Lady of Queenscliff still stands. Dropped in for a quick drink late in the afternoon on the wknd. They were about to open the rooftop bar but we preferred the quiet shady oasis out the back, past Reception. Soaked up the ambience, enjoyed mellowing out. Staff friendly too.
Ripping Asian fusion mussels and sea food red Thai curry. To me a 10. Spot on. Old Victorian building is a classic. Great views from rooftop bar.Service: 5/5
Congratulations on your lovely waitress Kayla. Myself & my daughters visited today for a cold drink and lunch. Kayla was a sweetheart, she even went above and beyond to help me by looking after one of my girls while I took the other to the bathroom. Thank you Kayla! I hope the other not so friendly staff follow your lead!
My sister took me to the hotel. Her room, very basic and did not even have a wardrobe and her instruction manual incomplete - did not give WiFi details. My room okay, but tissue box empty. No water in fridge. On second night there, very rowdy group of people staying and suddenly a man jumped on to my balcony, wrenched open the insect screen and tried to open my door. I screamed and he ran off! I assume he thought one of his group was in the room. My sister rang the owner's contact number, and everything quietened down. Very surprised owner did not tell reception staff, nor apologised to me even though she lives on site, did not reduce bill and felt it was very uncaring. I had a huge fright, I am not young and was scared as reception not open at night and nobody on duty after 5pm. Unable to have breakfast in hotel, restaurant closed, common parts very dusty and cannot find anything good to say to recommend the hotel, other than it is a very beautiful Victorian building.
Had mums 70th with about 30 friends & family recently.. Excellent service from All Staff , we had a great lunch from a tasty menu . Best views of the peninsula from the top , the building throughout is definitely worth a visit.Rooms: 5/5
With a wealth of historical providence this lovely hotel excited and thrilled with the tiled floors and warmly decorated hallways. The epic dining room is set to display at the minute, not enough staff meaning only the front bistro is functional. This doesn’t impact your stay in any way! The rooms are stylish and clean. The modern facilities include a spa bath, for only a little extra. Included is tea and coffee, no table and chairs makes this a bit of a juggle. Parking out the back is free. The dining is tasty and the choices are limited but delightful! I highly recommend this as an experience for all adventurous souls.
