As authentic as it gets. On the day we visited our chef was one of their Mexican chefs. The food was fresh, flavoursome, and full of colour. The accompanying drinks were the perfect combination for each tasty morsel. The service was quick and knowledgeable. I could also relate to the vibe of its decor.
Stunning food as always. Brilliant flavours, and presentation. The atmosphere is always warm and inviting too. It was my birthday, and they had a Tequila shot for me and a sombrero! My favourite restaurant in New Zealand by a Looooong way.
Very instagrammable joint and live the vibes. Service was 5star excellent. We didn't even say anything about celebrating a birthday. The service staff just overheard our conversation and offered the birthday boy a treat! That was not even necessary and we appreciate that very much. So thoughtful. Needless to say, food was super awesome !!!
One of the best Mexican food places in Wellington! Beef tacos were on point, and the nachos were delicious as well! Don't forget to get what for me was the highlight of the place: the Flan
This is the gold standard for Mexican in Wellington, every time my partner and I have dined here it’s been an amazing 10/10 experience. From the great friendly and perfect customer service to the delicious delectable food, there’s nothing this place could do wrong. If you’re thinking of coming here, stop thinking and do it. You won’t regret it and you’ll continue to comeback.
If you are looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant, this is the place for you. We really enjoyed our dinner here and were directly reminded of our travels in Latin America.
Perfect! Not a single thing wrong with the food. Seemed like one chef that was firing off these meals too. Al Pastor tacos with their habanero hot sauce were spectacular as was the flan. I wish I lived in Wellington so I could be a regular hereFood: 5/5
I really enjoyed the food, everything I ate was really good. I just wish they had tamales on the menu, and maybe some spicier options. I would also like the option of a non frozen margarita, just my preference. Best Mexican food I've had in Wellington.Food: 4/5
While this place has a nice atmosphere and friendly staff the food was disappointing at best. At $26 the vegetarian enchiladas were small and filled with bland tasting mashed potatoes and served with a side of lukewarm beans and rice, and a salad that tasted like it had store bought bottled dressing on it. Sadly the 3 vegetarian tacos we had as well at $8 each were not up to par either, all served in tortillas with no herbs or sauces, just the mixture of either panfried mushrooms, or unseasoned jackfruit. We never complain usually but this time it was just too bad not to say something. The manager was very understanding and gave us a discount, but one of the waitresses was slightly defensive towards our feedback. Compared to Mexico Wellington on Dixon street this restaurant is not up to standard and would never return, as there is much tastier and delicious Mexican food out there. Sorry for this review.
Best Mexican in Wellington and Petone by a long shot. Proper Mexican food, plenty of choice, lovely staff, and reasonable prices. Our #1 go to restaurant for a treat, or just a great meal. Oh, and the deserts are fab too!Food: 5/5
