Cheerful and good value. Nice service and most importantly of all, the hollandaise on the eggs Benedict does not taste like jar stuff. And stuff like that matters. Coffee was excellent and the locals were happy and boisterous. Always a good sign that.
Have been here quite a few times, yes you can wait a bit for your food but it is well worth the wait. Today we came here for my birthday lunch as the pies here are to die for. Unfortunately they were all sold out so I gave the pumpkin feta tart a go , this has now caused a problem as my next trip I won't be able to decide between the tart and pies. The pumpkin tart has a lovely hint of cumin and the side salad is as fresh as it gets. The staff are freindly but very busy. Keep up the good work guys and those that want a quick meal grab a deli pie.
Excellent pies, kinda spensy but worth it. Took home and heated in the oven and god they were good. Really get the homemade feel from the pastry and heaps of filling.
Amazing food! Fresh and yummy! Much better than some of the Melbourne cafes! Very flavourful and not bland. We tried fish and chips / steak champagne pie/ penne pasta / pancakes! They were all Delish. We visited for next day lunch too. Friendly staff. Kid-friendliness: Offer side plates to share! Bathrooms are clean and kids didn’t feel like a crowded cafe.
Very nice. Try the scones. Good coffee, although this is not really the place to come to if you are in a hurry. Also the pies looked really good.Food: 5/5
Have to agree with other reviews. Walked in to a quiet Cafe and nobody interested to serve you. Wanted the chix pie to take away. No, can't do that. No worries, I went to the bakery instead
Every plate we tried was so fresh and full of flavor… Staff was helpful…some younger staff needs to smile a bit more.. we’ll definitely come back…
Waiting one hour to get our food on table, for just few sandwich. Disgusting cheese on it shows how mess in the kitchen. I think they got few casual waiter in front and only ONE chef in kitchen services more than 30 customer. Fast order and long waiting time then.
Excellent visit for me to Penola with mother and and younger sister, having lunch and quietly enjoying the curio shops, and struck gold finding woman's weeklies from the 1960s.
Very nice coffee and blueberry muffin along with very friendly service.Food: 5/5
