Nice and big busy store however stock is quantity over quality even in the glass cabinet section. Lovely staff including Elizabeth the Retail Assistant Manager, Justin the Assistant Manager, and Sue the Store Manager.nnGood prices for second hand items but new items is nowhere near to be found except for the diminishing amount of DVDs.nnGood if you want clothing this place is more clothing than anything else.nnBetter to go to Salvos Stores in Tarneit. This store has declined quality wise from over the years and it's getting worse. Hoppers Crossing is not the place to go Op Shopping anymore unless you want some low to mid tier clothing item or very basic glassware.
I had very bad experience by practice manager Dimmi, front desk girls told me that's her name.nWe were at front desk to pay, she showed me a hand gesture cover your mouth. I agree I am a migrant, but I can speak English. I am a health professional and I studied at University for 5 years, working in Australia for 20 years. I was confused looked at her, she said your mom should wear mask. My mom has nerve damage to throat, occasionally she need to clear the throat. I don't know how many years Dimmi was at medical school, she diagnosed my mom with respiratory illness. I tried to tell her my mom has nerve problem, only cleared her throat once. She said doesn't matter, should wear mask. I am a health professional, I don't think she need to wear mask for nerve problem. We sad to feel that she thinks old people all prone to respiratory illness. There are very healthy seniors around. Old age is not illness. I don't know who employed this lady as there are so many seniors work in that store. Very sad to see people like her discriminate against old people. She spoiled our day. Hopefully high management should have a word with her and educate her, so doesn't hurt the feelings of our seniors. Most of our seniors don't even talk back to defend themselves.nOnly reason I am writing this I want Dimmi to learn and respect our elders. I have been coming to this store for long time. Always had a wonderful experience. As a practice manager I thought management would have employed someone with great communication skills. Unfortunately in this store practice manager only speaking with hand gestures and when I tried to explain she walked away from the desk. Obviously Dimmi only wanted to be heard her side. What a poor communication skills, and she is leading this massive store. If she can't even listen to her customer, how she would lead her team and listen to them.
One of the very few Op shops left that is reasonably priced. Sue is such a beautiful lady.nShe is very professional and compassionate. If only there were more people like her, this world would be a much better place. The staff are always helpful and happy.nWhich makes the atmosphere great. Been going here for years.

A good shop to leave a little money behind in if you're a treasure hunter as it goes to charity. Standard format as in other Vinnies stores and this one has the advantage of being large so stock levels are high and of good quality at a fair price.nFriendly volunteer staff always helpful.
