It was a really unpleasant experience.nI decided to pay with my changes and I am sure there’s nothing wrong with that. The lady at the counter made a big fussy about it and tried to play some mind games including told me there’s a line while there was actually no one behind me; after seeing me counting and asking do I need some help with ‘mean’ mannerlike because I look like Chinese so I have problem counting, She even make a sign after received the changes.nIf you don’t want any small changes, and don’t have the patience and empathy, maybe charity shop is not the right fit for you. What a lovely surprise!
Not as big as the Moorabbin store and even though it's small, this St Vincent de Paul Society store just opposite Malvern Railway Station, is an impressive op shop and well stocked. It offers a good selection of affordable pre-loved goods including women's lots, men's but limited and children's clothing, shoes, kitchenware, glassware, artwork, and a huge and good selection of books.nnThe staff is very friendly and helpful, and offers great service. Check out the photos and you'll see the range of goods in this store. It's a must visit op shop in Malvern. Highly recommended.
The volunteer workers deserve a medal for the way they have to contend with certain customers... On Sunday afternoon 20th Oct. at 3:30 I witnessed a late middle-aged male customer in a synthetic red jacket engage in prolonged vicious and stubborn quarreling over a petty financial matter - first with a good-natured female vol. in her 70s, then with the Sunday manager. It was a particularly disgusting spectacle. Certain customers need to leave their heavy psychological baggage at home when they go out shopping, and not use it to swing at volunteer workers.
Always find something special at this store...a wide range of brands and styles. Huge range of kids clothes and some basic furniture. Staff are helpful. Pricing is fair given they only sell quality. Donations are gratefully recieved ....easy access via side street parking for offloading.
Being a public holiday, I popped inside and asked whether they were accepting donations. The lovely lady at the counter said they were, but we'd have to carrying everything through to the back, as the side wasn't open due to the public holiday. We said that wasn't a problem, and she was extremely grateful 5 stars!.nnWe parked up and, brought the bags and items in childrens clothes, games, and camping equipment. When we got to the back of the shop, where we'd been directed to, a lady called out to us that they're not accepting donations.nnI explained that we'd asked, and been told they were plus, the collection bins were out the front. She replied we'd been misinformed, she couldn't see what the donations were in black bags, so I informed her - to little effect, and we'd have to take everything away again. How lovely, customer service at its best. She added that we can't donate the childs car seat we had with us, as it's a safety item - no problem regarding that one, it makes sense.nnWe ended up donating elsewhere - where they were very grateful.
