I previously would visit this Vinnies store at Annerley every 6 weeks or so. I would pick up the odd useful kitchen item or reasonably priced piece of clothing. This isn't the case anymore! It has been a while since I've visited because the last 2 times the shop's pricing had got quite expensive. If you know your shopping you will notice many things you could buy in a shop, new, for less. I heard customers in the shop making this remark about objects that were overpriced. I was interested to see whether my visit would be any different but unfortunately no I don't think I will waste my time going back here again. Certainly they have a fairly large range because it's a large store. They particularly had lots of sets of DVDs, not so much in the way of kitchenware. The was plenty of clothes but pricey for what they were. I noticed the books were very, very expensive. For example, one small book $15. The cheapest book in the store was $5. The Vintage pieces also very expensive in terms of 100 or more dollars. Not my type of Charity store.
We regularly donate to this store and have been living in the area and shopping here for over 20 years. Our last donation was over 10k worth of designer clothes. My partner visited this store today on the 27th of Jan, just to see if any of our clothes were still on the racks and to see if she would have a lucky find. Whilst trying on some clothes a tag fell off one of the dresses, she promptly took the tag and the dress to the clerk and explained the situation to her. Her reply was, "yeah right", looked my partner up and down and then proceeded to follow her around the store like she had stollen something. She went to every rack my partner went to checking it and stood less than a metre away from her at all times. Is this what an organisation that is meant to be helping the disadvantaged is meant to look like? We feel bad we ever gave to this shop, hopefully the charity itself hasn't fallen/strayed as far as this individual has from what this charity was originally designed for. SHAME ON YOU. WE WILL NEVER GRACE YOUR STORE WITH OUR BUSINESS NOR OUR DONATIONS AGAIN. To anyone else reading this, if you can find another charity store to donate to in your local area, do it and save yourself the grief.
the staff had followed me around the shop the whole time I'd been in there the staff acted as though the VINNIES shop was their OWN personal business/ investment...
Beautiful items in store but over priced. Second hand shoes for $40. Childrens hats for $8 Nice store but sadly not realistic pricing.
$70 for a bass drum pedal, $60 for a VHS player, absolutely ridiculous. Almost all of the op shops in Brisbane have completely lost their minds with greed. Items you have obtained for free, should be passed at a discount to those willing to look through your stores. Might as well go to vintage stores these days, at least you don’t have to waste your time searching for the decent stuff.
Son went there today to buy a second hand camera that was on display with some other cameras when ask the price they replied by saying the cameras are only for display not for sale Someone might have donated the cameras the person serving was rude think twice about donating to Vinnie's
The only point of difference compared to other op shop and other Vinnies was the price. $$$ Unaffordable. Staff were not very welcoming. Fairly basic thrift store , Variety on offer was average. Disappointing experience.
Ridiculous prices cheap clothing, some items may even be cheaper brand new. Very strange staff that hover around you in the store as if your intending on stealing their $15 Kmart shirts. Some staff even looked like they were on meth. We were over charged a few bucks for our 3 items and felt uncomfortable correcting their mistake. This store is simply a money grab, please don’t go there.
Not even worth one when you're misgendered as soon as walk in the store. Rude plain rude
Disgustingly expensive! What happened to being an OPPORTUNITY shop? Shame on you.
