It used to be better tbh, prices have since increased tremendously just because of the label even though some "designer" items are clearly not new. Sometimes you can find a bargain though, maybe it depends on who's doing the price tags? Service is a bit hit and miss, I've had some lovely Service with nice banter but there are a few not so welcoming faces. Maybe they just had a bad day, still worth checking out if you like Op shopping
This is not really a cheap or affordable Vinnies if that's what you're after, they do however have a great selection of fashion, accessories and shoes though. Also some furniture pieces and household brick a brack. They have big bins outside for donations too.
I had two boxes of donations to drop off today, in the rain. I gave one box to the Salvos and was thanked for my efforts. I particularly wanted to take the other box to Vinnies as they have assisted me in the past. I placed clothing items in the large bins at the front and took a large doona inside with some knick knacks. The person showed no appreciation for my efforts and was more concerned with where I put the box. I left the store feeling chastised and regretting the fact I hadn't given everything to the Salvos.
Such a great store! The staff are so friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be back!
Visited here the other day. I felt that the clothing was very overpriced for an op shop. They were selling some items for a dearer price then they are to by new from an actual store. Just because it says country road on the label of a dress doesn't mean you can charge $80 for it when it was clearly stained and had pulls on it. Not impressed. Salvos next door was much more reasonable.
Went to donate clothes today 15/8/21. The guy outside was pretty rude. He then called me sensitive because I told him not to be so rude. Maybe I was sensitive. But looking at other reviews, the staff here seem rude plenty of other times. I took my stuff to the Australian Red Cross in fortitude valley. They were very grateful.
I have so many complaints for this store. I wish they read their reviews and acted accordingly. - The manager I think is SO rude. She spoke so rough and dismissive to a lovely homeless man that came in to buy TOWELS. Ps. I saw you crash your car into someone else’s car and I took a photo of your number plate. Fix your attitude, it’s getting old. - The prices are EXTORTIONATE! It is an OP SHOP! Not a retail store! Any item of clothing that has new tags on them automatically gets priced near to new values. People are shopping here for clothes that are cheaper not $200 yes $200 dresses that are priced that way just because the new tags are on them. If you are donating clothes here, make sure you remove tags because they up the price purely based on the brand, even if they are in poor condition and ugly. It’s truely so unfair for those customers who are shopping at OP SHOPS because they cannot afford retail prices. Do better.
Worst experience ever. Staff and manager were extremely rude and unwelcoming when we walked in 15 minutes before close to purchase an item a friend had told us about. We were told we had 2 minutes to shop and then once we had found the item at the counter $60 pandora charm we waited for the people in line at the counter to be served however a few minutes later which was still ten minutes until close time the manager paused mid service to point at myself and my friend and told us we had to leave and got the other staff member to walk us out. We are both working professionals who had left work half an hour early to pick up this item for a baby gift but were singled out and made to leave while waiting patiently and politely at the counter for our turn. Closing time is meant to be 5pm and we were thrown out while there were still 5 other people in the store awaiting to be served and it was still only 4.50pm. Everything about this visit was appalling and I am still trying to understand why we were treated so badly and singled out. Not good enough and will never go back.
I was left embarassed and upset after leaving work 30 minutes early and arriving at 4.45pm to purchase a specific item at the register. It was a $60 purple Pandora leather bracelet with a purple charm I wanted to buy as a baby shower gift. I normally finish at 5pm but left work early 4.30pm to make it on time to the store before close. The lady at the register snapped at me "We close in 2 minutes!" and we were shocked at the hostility but we knew we would only be a moment and be done by 5pm. I walked to the register and located the bracelet and saw there were 5 other people in line ahead of me. I waited quietly for my turn to be served. However, at 4.50pm, while she was serving another customer, the lady turned to me and pointed at my friend then said "we are now closed so make your walk the door". I was shocked. I didn't know what to do. I was so embarassed as there were 5 other customers in the store all looking at us like we were trash. Bone of these people were asked to leave, only us. I had just finished work, I was dressed nicely in office attire slacks and a blouse and boots as was my friend, and we had been quite, patient and had not made any sort of commotion on our arrival. I just don't understand why we were treated this way and I'm sad I wasn't allowed to buy the bracelet. My friend and I also lost 30 minutes of wages by leaving work early to get to this store and honestly I'm just in shock and humiliated. I understand closing time is 5pm, but it's not our fault there were 5 other people in line ahead of us, and hoenstly it would of taken less than 3 minutes to hand me the bracelet and let me pay cash for the item. I understand one review can't make a difference to a big company but the way this one person treated me really made a big different to my day, and I'm sad and upset. It goes without saying, I won't be back.
I came here and the male employee was very condecending and rude because I am medically exempt from wearing a mask, he was refusing us entry into the store and was discriminating against us. He did not know the law and unfortunately he was one of those people who don't like being wrong! I will never ever come here again, staff should be trained in customer service, this guy obviously wasn't.
