Consistently great. We were that group, with a baby and a pram but the staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Great and attentive service, good wine recommendations.nnOne guest was gluten free so we got a modified pasta with GF pasta. It was honestly great, wouldn't of been able to pick it was GF.
The maître d’ very kindly squeezed us in, in between bookings for a quick meal this evening Sunday. We both enjoyed the pasta vongole which had great flavour, plenty of vongole, fried breadcrumbs and a touch of chilli, enough to warm the palette. Best to book in advance as it was very busy. A great vibe and service was extremely attentive and friendly. Reasonably priced.
Some of the best pasta I’ve had the pleasure of eating, fantastic service and good drinks list! Booked online for the following day. We must have got the last table as we were seated in the next door area right at the back - our server was amazing and he moved us to a better table once it came available. We shared a few dishes with the angolotti and the amatricana as firm faves. Tiramisu was huge! Good for sharing.
Menu is not super long but has good options. Service is attentive and knowledgeable. Lobster pasta and the vongle was ok - kinda average.nnStandout was the osso bucco pasta - good mouth feel, the meat is not overpowering.nnThe eggplant parmigiana was fantastic - with a bit of char to add to the taste. One the best that I've had to date!nnDessert liked the doughnut on custard and tiramisu.
First time dining at Vin Populi last night and we had such a good time. We went full carb mad and got 4 different pastas. The squid ink linguini and the potato agnolotti were SO GOOD! The vongole and crab tagliolini were less flavourful.nWe ordered 3 antipastis, the calamari, bocconcini and octopus. The calamari was amazing and tender and so well seasoned. Octopus was good but too chewy for our liking. Bocconcini was yummy and so good with the ciabatta.nFor dessert, we got the sfoglia il limone and donuts. Donuts were so light and fluffy. Sauce wasn’t too sweet. For the sfoglia, the pasty was light and crispy but the curd had a weird flavour.nWill definitely come back again, just for the squid ink pasta, and to try the osso bucco tagliatelle and the gnocchinService was attentive and efficient.
