They forgot to bring us our drinks, which sat at the bar while the ice melted and diluted our cocktails. They told us there was a 40min wait for food, which we accepted. The food arrived in 1hr, my calamari rings was over fried, looked more brown than golden. No apologies for the drinks or the wait on the food. Don't come here expecting big city service.
Met some friends here for drinks and dinner on a Thursday night. As it was my first time to Grafton, I was pleased my friends picked this hotel as it was located just across the road from the park where the trees were lit up at night for the Jacaranda Festival. For dinner I had the Mango and Avocado Salad with Prawn Twisters. I asked for the dressing on the side as it had coriander in it, but I couldn't even taste it in it so actually enjoyed the flavour. The twisters were a tad cold, but not enough to ruin the meal. Good, busy atmosphere in the pub even though it was a weeknight
Had Saturday lunch celebrating my son's and partner's birthday! Ordered Beer Battered Fish, Buddha Bowl/ Sweet Pot chips, Bean Loaded Nacos. All delicious meals. The Sticky Date pudding- was top shelf delish.
After watching the jacaranda I was thirsty and found here to have a cup of coffee. The environment is beautiful. You can sit outside and enjoy the flowers. The coffee tastes good, but it is not hot enough.
Originally the Imperial Hotel this Century plus treasure is a jewel. Well presserved and welcoming staff. Great menu and service backed by delicious meals.
Best crew ever, the staff there are fantastic from the boss to bar staff to the bus driver, they make us feel welcome and we have a great time. Food is awesome, its always a great meal. Karaoke is the best night ever for the young and old. This is a night we now enjoy building fun memeories with our Daughter and her Boyfriend who just turned 18.
On a very hot day, the cool of the pub inside was fabulous! Clean, tidy and three wonderful helpful smiling lasses looking after things behind the bar and delivering food. The food we had; the special pan fried salmon and salad and a haloumi and sweet potato burger with chips and salad could best be described as good honest hearty food. Decent sized portions, the chips were fantastic and it is surprising how often places cannot do a good chip, the salad/slaw was fresh and bright, but the burger was a bit dry but still quite tasty. Overall though, well done. My partners salmon was "to die for."
Upon entering the Pound St entrance, we were hit by a wave of cigarette smoke that was funnelling from the smoking section. When I walked up to the counter to order my food, I had to wait 5 minutes while numerous people after me were served by two staff who did not think to look to see if someone wanted to order food. When I was served, I order the scotch steak $36 and steak burger. We sat by the window which was fortunate as there was a fly hanging around. No matter, the spider in the corner of the window caught it with their ample web which appeared to have not been cleaned in some time. As I contemplated the lacquer peeling of the table during the wait for the meals, someone turned up the racing at the far end of the hotel so loud I swear I could hear each individual horse being whipped. You do realise the majority of Australians oppose any kind of animal racing right? Especially ones where the animal is flogged. It's offensive. When I got my steak, it was a sandwich steak, very thin, and very over cooked. It was a total rip off. You really only need two things to succeed in a restaurant, good food and good service, the rest will flow. They failed on both counts. While I have given them many chances, I will not be going back there. I left to the sound of racing and cigarette smell, disgusting.
I called to order and was greeted by a very cheerful and helpful young lady, Izzy. I was unsure how to order online so she took me though how. Fantastic service by all. If you find more like Izzy you'll have more happy customers
Biggest schnitzel I’ve ever seen for $20. Should’ve ordered 10 of it to get full
