Established in 1879, Victoria Park was the home ground of the Collingwood Football Club until 1999, and its training and administration hub until 2004. It is still regarded as the 'spiritual home' of the club. Today, it is a recreation hub suitable for exercising, dog walking or kicking the footy around.
I love that this nice old stadium is so open to the public most of the time. It's a generally safe, family-friendly and dog-friendly space. I just wish there was better communication about the events that have closure and noise impacts.
Great place to bring your dog off-leash when there is no sport on. Plenty of space for them to have a good run, and fully fenced if you have an escape artist. Water and bins nearby, close to trains and lots of parking. Generally all the dog owners are great, very friendly and respectful. Taking one star off because the drainage could definitely be better. Be prepared for wet feet in poorer conditions.
Birthplace of the COLLINGWOOD FOOTBALL CLUB. no longer hosting AFL Games however since closing has been opened up to the community and Collingwood VFL team plays there home games here which still attract a decent crowd
