Our tabby cat aged 15 was treated here with 'radioactive iodine' for her hyperthyroidism requiring a 6 night stay in isolation. With all other avenues exhausted re meds/limited iodine food we opted to travel 3 hours to seek this specialized treatment. I can't thank Graeme and the team enough; so glad we did it and we have a very happy 'Tiggy Tiger' back. Being the 'helicopter kitty mum' I am, I couldn't wait for the texts and rang the clinic daily. I was always treated with patience and kindness by the ladies on the front desk. They looked after her so well and we were very grateful for the daily updates.
If i could give Vets North Kumeu a zero star rating i would. They dont care about your animal they care about your money and that was at the expense of our beloved pet. Took her there because she wasnt eating and hadnt for the past 4 days. The vet was more concerned about how she was "over weight" by 1kg. Told us give her this tablet if shes not eating in a few days to come back, as if a tablet was going to make a difference, we wanted bloods done. Took her to another vet one who cared!! To find out she had liver cancer and it has spread too fast that she was unable to be saved. There was a window of hope a 2 week window. After the passing of our girl, made contact with Vets North only to get the response i thought i would, a cover their own backside. I have nothing positive to say and you can quite imagine what id like to end this with... definitely dont let these guys be the ones to care for your beloved animals because i highly doubt for a positive ending. Awful experience. Booked in to for my chicken to be seen and told that I would see someone with poultry experience. I was told by the vet he could not help me as knows nothing about chickens. Would not provide antibiotics as requested and would not give her a nasal flush as recommended by an avian online vet. I walked out with a $130 bill and zero help. Never again.
Gob smacked at the service this morning. Came in with our chihuahua for his vaccination. And the vet came out and said what's the point. Then told us he would need knee surgery at $4000 a leg. Come to paying the vaccination $172.00 I am disgusted at the prices and service.
Our cat got treated here with radioactive iodine for hyperthyroid. She is like a kitten again! And they texted me every day of her stay to let me know she was OK.
Highly recommend, they are such a caring and friendly team. Laura S on reception is amazing! She went over and above to help when my cat had a faulty microchip inserted by another vet. She contacted the cat register and cat door companies to confirm the exact issue and arrange a new chip. Thank you!
One star only even though review shows 4 stars. Wanted to go to another vet but they were booked out so our dog was seen here. Staff very unpleasant trying to enforce mask wearing. An exemption is an exemption! Very unprofessional. Don't they know still that masks are just muzzling signs of submission? And if there mask doesn't work don't ask me to wear one. Very sad. Not about my pets health.
Last Saturday was the 2nd time ever that I took my dog A german Shepard to this vet. The first time was about 3 months ago. The first experience was bad but it was a Saturday and my dog was not peeing. I reached there and took my dog into the consultation room. The vet spoke to me for about 5 mins. Never once touched my dog the first visit was the same the vet did not touch the dog They ended up giving the dog a week's antibiotics tables and an anti-inflammatory bottle. in the last minute I told the vet that my dogs ears were a bit dry. She looked at it from about 4 feet and said yeah it looked dry. The bill came up to $330 this included $72 dollars for a not contact consultation for about 6 mins and to top it all the Neo Soothe Tube cream that they gave for my dog was $76.70. you can pick this up for $30. Talk about vets ripping animal owners off because they know that they will pay for their loved animals. Vets North Kumeu should be ashamed of themselves.!!! You give a bad name to VET!!!! Need less to say I will never be going back there and I would recommend that you take your pet to Mobile Vets in Kumeu. They are more professional. NO stars for you guys!!!!. Stop ripping people off!!!!!! Unfortunately I cannot post this with a star! You did not even earn that star!!!
