Slim pickings in Mackay on a Sunday evening, even for fish n chipsnnWe chose Vella’s as it was the closest to our accommodation. Took about 20 minutes for two pieces of fish, chips and pineapple fritters a tropical pack nnThe fish was only available crumbed, looked great but quite dry, would have benefited from a wedge of lemon. The chips didn’t have the requested chicken salt and they were out of 600 ml soft drinksnnThe pineapple fritters were the highlight of our meal, cooked and sweetened perfectly nnFilled a hole and certainly edible but has room for improvementnnThank you for your prompt reply regarding suggested improvements. As mentioned - providing customers the option of battered fish or crumbed, adding a wedge of lemon, in-case the fish is dry or strongly flavoured, paying attention to a request for chicken salt the counter staff wrote this on our order and having your refrigerators stocked with drinks, would go a long way to improving your already solid offering.nnWe enjoyed our meal and appreciate the menu packs available. It's absolutely disappointing.nThis was our favourite fish and chips and is nowhere near as good as it should or usually is.nHad to check the chips before leaving as there is not enough chicken salt or salt at all on the chips.nWe ordered a fish burger, and it was the worst burger we have ordered and paid for. It's like the ingredients are sprinkled.nPicture of the fishnNot returning.
Absolutely not happy with the customer service and food. Such a waste of time and money . Lady at the front has worst sick attitude, looks like she don’t even want to be there. Ordered battered fish got grilled fish instead that looks like that which was 11$. Lady won’t even confirm the order even talk with the customer. Such a worst experience won’t recommend at all. Such a simple order can’t even get right and has to wait long. I wish I could give - rating
Our experience at Vellas Express in North Mackay was truly disappointing. We called in our order and were informed it would be ready in 25 minutes, but it actually took an hour. It was understandable that the deep fryer had broken down, but upon arrival, we found many customers waiting. After paying at the counter, we were told to wait for 5 minutes, only to end up waiting for an hour. I had to inquire about my order, which had been sitting in the hot box for 15 minutes without anyone informing me. There were numerous unhappy customers waiting around, only to discover that their orders could not be fulfilled due to running out of food products. Food was just warm & not appetising.
