Really surprised at how good this place was. We normally eat Thai food around the city, but this place trumps them all. We ordered 3 dishes + dessert and not one of them disappointed. The honey duck curry was very unique with a refreshing splash of fruit. The spicy crispy pork was exploding with flavour. The crispy barramundi was made perfectly with a light and crispy batter. The customer service was friendly and attentive. Would definitely come back here again!

Best authentic Thai in Port Melbourne. Excellent Team and customer service. Good value for money and vegan options available too. The food here is Super delicious from Entree to Main and Dessert.. the Roti with Satay Sauce, Spicy Chicken Wings, Thai Donut with Pandan Custard Dip, Three Flavoured Barramundi, Chu Chee Salmon, Thai Milk Tea, Thai Fried Rice and Pineapple Fried Rice are our favourites. These are among the food we always order when we visit Vela Thai. My family and I have been here many times and we will definitely visit again and I 100% recommend to everyone. A must try. What more can a person ask for. Definitely a hidden gem in Bay Street Port Melbourne.

You will never be able to order Thai anywhere else ever again after eating here. Authentic Thai with a modern twist, I was already planning my next visit after the entree arrived. Roti and satay sauce had me hooked at the first bite then the the Chee Chee Salmon was to die for.

Loving their new breakfast/brunch menu! Loved the thai coffee done properly with the drip and thai milk tea. Also had a fried chicken sandwich think succulent chicken with a delicious sauce and the traditional thai breakfast which was simple but filling. 10/10 would recommended.

Hardly ever do Google reviews but it was such a good experience we decided to. Stumbled upon this cute little restaurant and to our surprise, it was a fantastic experience. The food was absolutely delicious! In addition to this, after initially being told they had run out of their Thai donuts with pandan custard, they decided to make another “last batch” for us. Staff were exceptionally lovely and service was efficient. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be returning :

Great meal and lovely service. Delicious flavours. Reasonable serving size - not too big, which we appreciate. Very reasonable prices. We will definitely visit again.

Dinner was great and service was good. It was busy. The barramundi salad and pad cha seafood was delicious!

One of the best Thai food I have ever had in Australia. Fresh ingredients, authentic flavours and if you don’t like your food too hot. You can ask them.

We have ordered vegetarian pineapple fry rice, the vegetarian stir fry noodle and a Thai salad. All dishes are super delicious and authentic. Kids and I enjoyed all dishes
