Didn’t get as far as actually eating there. The front of house staff woman was rude and barely gave us the time of day...even stating that “they’re too busy today and don’t have a spare table for 4”. Not a polite...”could you come back in 10 minutes”. After taking 5 minutes to even acknowledge that we were standing there, her manners were shocking to say the least. Customer service goes a long way and people are happy to wait, if the staff are friendly and explain. We probably would have spent extra money on drinks while waiting for a table as we had plenty of time (and money) to spare on our girls weekend away from home. Pretty disappointing in comparison to all of the other beautiful shops that we visited and the other cafe that we spent our money at. Being busy is not an excuse to be rude and if you can’t handle the heat then get out of the kitchen! Is there an option to rate it “no stars”?

We entered the cafe at 11.15 ordered breakfast by 11.20, were told there would be a 15/20 minute wait only to end up getting our breakfast at 12.15 only to have my friends order completely wrong - resulting in waiting longer and it coming back with burnt bacon and “scrambled eggs” which were actually just a flipped and chopped omlet. ladoes next to us also waited an hour and told the same thing. I work in hospitality and understand that you cannot help it if it’s busy but it is key that the front of house staff are giving the correct information, if we had of known it was an hour we wouldn’t of waited. It is also essential that if there are big stuff ups the front of house staff are apologetic, accommodating and extra friendly. None of this occurred and that was the frustrating part - believe this cafe would be great but they need to improve customer service and obviously cook meals correctly

Having worked in hospitality I understand how hard it can get to please everyone at busy times, but Vela 9 cafe was my worst cafe experience to date. Before ordering we asked how long the wait on food would be, they said 15/20 mins so we ordered. Waited over an hour for our meal, only to have my order stuffed up complelty, they then changed it and it was worst breakfast I've been served along with burnt bacon and toast. No apologies from the waitress or chef, overall such a poor and disappointing experience. Good wait staff can make or break a cafe, communication is key and this cafe has non of the above.

Delicious food, great, friendly service. Such a nice place with a welcoming atmosphere. You won't be disappointed, give them a try.
