I have just obtained a car through Vehicle Solutions by setting up a self-managed lease and found the process to be completely painless. Russell organised all the paperwork with Maxxia and my employer. I compared the cost with Maxxia who the SA Govt suggests we use and the interest rate on the finance part of the lease was almost double that which I obtained with Vehicle Solutions. Another bonus was that I mentioned I was looking for a Rav 4 hybrid and, through his connections, Russell found one for me so I didn't have to wait 18 months. I also compared the cost of leasing with getting a low rate personal loan. Leasing will save me about $10,000 off the cost of purchasing the car with my own finance. I recommend all SA Govt employees have a look at Vehicle Solutions and don't be scared off by Maxxia's self-managed lease information. It's not hard at all.
Genuinely painless experience except maybe the need for wet signatures on documents. I found the car, they worked with the garage to sort the rest. No hassling from agents, no big performance. Loan rate on the lease was 2.5 percentage points less than with Maxxia. Will use again.
