Was a great place to visit and catch up with friends. The kids tagged along and found some fun in the arcade. Food was what you would expect as pub grub. All round a great time and the staff were accommodating.nNext time we are in the area I will visit again!nDoxx
Tonight, my colleagues and I went to Varsity in Joondalup for a Christmas and end-of-year get-together. I had passed by many times but had never dropped in, so I was looking forward to checking the place out.nnWe enjoyed a few drinks in one area before being asked to move to another table due to a function, which was fine. We were still seated in the outdoor area and enjoying each other’s company.nnWhile we were sitting at our table, a lady walked out, sat at the table next to us, and lit up a cigarette. Not far from her table, there was a sign clearly stating “No Smoking and No Vaping.”nnWe called over a Varsity staff member security and raised the issue of someone smoking in a designated “No Smoking” area. He proceeded to tell us that it was actually okay for her to smoke there, claiming the sign was old and that new rules allowed smoking in that area.nnWe questioned why the sign was still displayed and explained that, had we known smoking was permitted, we would have chosen to sit elsewhere. Our concerns were completely dismissed. In my view, if a sign states “No Smoking,” then smoking should not be permitted—it’s not rocket science.nnThe staff were very friendly and they did all they could to ensure that our orders were filled. I did have to repeat myself a few times and had to go back when I realised we weren’t given the ice that we asked for. The food was okay but a little over-priced.nnFor the above reasons, I will never return to or frequent that establishment again. I was disgusted that incidents like this still occur in this day and age.nnThe photos I have provided show the sign clearly displayed within the outdoor area, as well as a photo of the round table where the lady had been sitting while she was smoking.
We absolutely love coming to Varsity Joondalup! The food is always amazing, the service is super quick, and the whole team goes above and beyond every single visit.nnA huge shoutout to David, Rhea, Jodie, Michael, Stephen, Luca, Poppy, Jack, Caitlin, Jackson, Ari, Maria, Jasmine, and Mitch I’m not the best at remembering names, so if you made the list, you’re extra special! lol — but honestly, the entire crew at Varsity Joondalup are incredible. The staff always remember us, which makes every visit feel so welcoming and personal. They’re friendly, efficient, and always make sure everything runs smoothly, even when it’s really busy.nnThe security guards deserve praise too — they’re professional, calm, and handle any conflict so well. Whenever trouble starts, the staff and security are quick to step in and redirect the behaviour before it escalates, which creates such a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone.nnIt’s rare to find a venue with such consistently amazing food, outstanding customer service, and such a well-managed environment. Varsity Joondalup has an amazing team, and it’s because of people like these that we keep coming back.
Phenomenal place, love the friendly staff. Quiz nights are my favourite, as they always have a great atmosphere.nOne of the best sports bars in Western Australia.nFood is superb and consistent.
Look after your food! They want to take your food when you're not looking!nMy friends ordered a burger and chips, the other a large chips. I didn't order because Varsity Morley gave me the worst food poisoning I ever had. One friend had a bite and 2 chips before nature called, the other was outside with another friend having a smoke when his order came, I stayed and was watching the Aston Villa vs Arsenal game. Glassy came and grabbed the plates, I told her no, they're coming back to finish it. 2 minutes later I turned my back for 30 seconds because a former patient recognised me and glassy took them while I was talking. The friends came back to no food, and complained to the bar manager. Bar manager refunded a third of the burger and chips and the refused to refund the chips. Kind of feels like a hustle to get more money. They order food, go from food without eating much of it, glassy takes it, and they hope that the patrons will buy more food to replace their meals. So keep an eye out if you are in a group or put it in the centre of the group
