Ben Haman Omar is a researcher at the University of Tasmania, Australia. He has published in leading domestic and international journals such as "The Journal of North African Studies" and "Parity". He referees as well for a few journals. He is currently drawing upon extensive fieldwork in Casablanca, Morocco to understand how neoliberal urban policies and redevelopment projects reproduce new forms of social exclusion and deprivation in the metropolitan peripheries.
My biggest regret is wasting my 4 years at this institution, incompetent staff with personal agendas and very fragile egos to match. Don't waste your time, look for a better institution.
Amazing place to study! Overall, university has everything that attracts people's all over the world.
I love the university, the facilities, and the events organised there.
I adore Sandy Bay campus, I adore the people working there. It is the people running the business who are letting everyone down with their unending thirst for money and property.
Lovely campus, staff and friends. I’ve enjoyed the campus life so far.
Masha Allah...Proud to say my son is studying in your University from feb ....All the best for ur future
Students from all over the world love the Rugby Club as a way to make friends.
This review is directed at/to the nursing faculty of UTAS. The Post-graduate certificate in critical care nursing is in one word appalling. The course structure and content is very basic. Resources are pilfered from other courses lectures and majority of instructional videos are from YouTube. Mylo difficult to navigate and disorganised. I must say I did learn a lot but what I learnt was through self-directed study. If you just want the certificate and don’t care what you learn this is the course for you.
If you're thinking of studying here, DON'T. UTAS is in catastrophic decline. After 3years getting qual's, it was a comedy of errors on their behalf, to the point I just accepted it as the norm and stopped complaining. Full-time job lined up, but due to UTAS constant misinformation and mishandling, I won't be graduating. Student services & support non-existent, lip-service at best. Staff don't care and will throw you under the bus to save their precarious jobs. UTAS is jettisoning courses because it is sinking, and after 3 years studying there IT REALLY SHOWS!!! You can get a degree from many other Uni's in Tasmania that operate here. DO THAT. DO NOT ENROL here. This has to be one of the worst uni's in Australia. Don't whether to laugh or cry. Seriously, anything UTAS has on offer is offered elsewhere, with better student support and just basic management. The fact they are going "100% online" on their very clunky, broken system tells you all you need to know. My degree was a 3 year horror show. Trust me, do NOT do UTAS.
