We have our Happy Dog back again thanks to the Urban Dog Team!!! Thank you so much to the team at Urban Dog Training for helping us with our boy’s separation anxiety issues. We moved from a house to our apartment a couple of months ago and our boy Bruno aged 8 months at the time would not settle at all!! He was constantly barking when we left him alone 6 hours of continuous barking!. He was even stressed when me and my partner where in the apartment with him. If one of us left, he would cry at the door. We had attended Puppy School, Basics and Clicks and Tricks with our boy Bruno at Urban Dog and had learned there that these types of issues tend to not get better on their own and can get worse very quickly without the right help, so we contacted the Urban Dog Team ASAP and explained the situation. Danielle recommended a private consultation. Danielle and Paul came out and assessed Bruno we did a few different exercises and Danielle made an assessment. Danielle and Paul left us with A LOT of information and new house rules for us to put in place for Bruno to help with his anxiety issues. I felt like Danielle and Paul actually cared about Bruno getting better and it did not seem like it was just a job for them, they genuinely wanted to help Bruno get back to being not just settled on his own, but happy on his own. Danielle and Paul kept in touch over the next couple of weeks to ensure everything was going well and they came out a couple of times more to see Bruno’s progress and give us more tools and information on how to continue getting Bruno back to being happy on his own. It was a very stressful time for me and my partner, but Danielle and Paul made it so much easier, especially reaching out and keeping in touch to make sure everything was still going well. Around 6 weeks later it seemed like everything we had done was finally paying off and Bruno could be left completely alone, he wasn’t just alone and not barking he was alone and playing with his toys himself, doing his puzzles, eating, and sleeping in his crate. He wasn’t even sitting at the door sad anymore. Its been 2 months now and Bruno doesn’t care about me leaving, When I am leaving the house in the mornings he is already under the bed asleep or in his crate when pick my keys up and put my shoes on he doesn’t even budge. He is getting better and better and other aspects of his training and behaviours are improving as well. It’s a massive difference to how he was a few months ago. We are still working with the Urban Dog Team and have enrolled in Recall class. Bruno still has a long way to go with some other training, but I am confident we will get there when we follow exactly what the trainers say to do. Every time we follow the advice and stick to it, it WORKS…even if it takes a bit of time. We are so happy to have Bruno settled and will be forever grateful to Danielle and Paul and Narelle for all their help and advice. They do really care about the dogs they train which I think makes such a difference! Thanks so Much for your help, from Bruno, Alison and Sean.
Do yourself a favour, and find genuine caring trainer and schools for your puppy instead of a company just after your money. My puppy had an accident so could not attend the school. They ignored my request for a refund and showed no compassion towards the emergency. Ignored us and kept the money even though my puppy could not attend classes due to an accident. Disgusting. No ethics, no morals, no compassion.
What a great experience for you and your dog. Reward positive based training easy to follow with experience enthusiastic teachers. This is a must for all puppy and dog owners.
Great tips and knowledge, no tact or facilitation skills. My husband is on the Autism spectrum and while taking our dog to the play group, he accidentally used the wrong word to describe our beloved fur child’s situation. Something common for adults on the Autism Spectrum, I jumped in gently to point out my husband had used the wrong word, which would have clarified the matter. Sadly the teacher Paul cut me off in a rather aggressive tone and I decided such a poor attitude was not worth my time. Be careful before you judge I think is the takeaway here. Not all disabilities are seen. Won’t be back!
If you can actually get a response to an email / contact, and get into a class they’re fine. We’ve had 3 unanswered emails and we’re a returning customer! Or we were … if they can’t be bothered responding then we’ll look elsewhere. Unfortunately we only attended the first session of our third course and due to a health issue we couldn’t go week two. We asked if we could restart next course - nothing. Asked again - nothing. I ended up contacting a little more sternly - nothing. Other reviews about male trainer are correct, abrupt and basically criticised other owners not in the class, the female trainers are excellent but do try and tell you how good they are. We learnt enough to be happy broadly with the training, service not so much. Would go elsewhere next time due to poor service and risk of getting male trainer.
Danielle and Paul are extremely knowledgeable in what they do and the only reason there are SOME stars given. Unfortunately my issue comes down to the customer service experience provided with Urban Dog Training. They don't seem to understand that when people sign up for a class it's because they can only attend that time frame. For a 6 week course, they have cancelled/postponed classes 8 times now due to weather. That has been ample time to try and find an alternative venue however failed to do so. When trying to request a partial refund I'm not about not paying for service, they have blatantly refused saying I agreed to the postponing/catchup classes offered in the beginning. I'm not denying that either, however I also didn't anticipate 8 weeks of delays and can no longer attend due to other commitments. Do yourself a favour and check with other companies first about their venue in case of bad weather.
Excellent training for both dog and parent. The skills you learn will set you and your dog up for plenty of success.
Just when you think your daughter's dog is untrainable you get to see a miracle transformation. I learnt a lot from naughty corner to not hugging him, but I can't help it. He is nanna's boy. Very good trainer and awesome training program. Love it
Extremely overpriced and unprofessional, will not refund, will cancel every time it rains apparently puppy's can't get wet, the owner and her husband will spend most of the time talking about how wonderful they are at training dogs and you will know more about the owners health than you will know about obedience training, if you are three yes three minutes late, you will not be allowed into your class, and if all of that is not enough, the owners husband squeezed my puppy to quote "calm her down", my puppy yelped and whimpered, but apparently "he didn't hurt her". I do not want anyone else to be ripped off the way I was, I did ask for a refund for the remaining courses, but was told it is in the contract,... I didn't know animal abuse was apart of their training methods. Do yourself a favor, if you get a new puppy, enroll them in a basic obedience course with your vet and then give CLEAR Dog Training a call, you will learn more in 2 sessions with CLEAR than you will in 7-8 sessions with Urban. I would have really liked an apology and a refund, but that never happened.
