Absolutely stunning gorge! 100% worth the 2.5km walk in 5km return Cross the river at the camp ground via the little boat, or swim across & put your belongings into the blue tubs to keep them dry. The walk is hot, dry & exposed for most of the journey. Lots of rocks to scramble over & the trail is marked with lots of arrows & dots of paint to keep you on track. Once at the gorge, the waterfall was stunning & it was amazing to swim underneath it. Lots of rock shelves to jump off and plenty of space for everyone to spread out and find a space to themselves. The sandy bottom in the middle was a lovely spot to stand & enjoy the gorge. Get your camping permits & can fill up with drinking water from the Roadhouse - closes at 3pm on weekdays, 1pm on weekends. Highly recommend!
Early start. Crossed river in a little boat then hiked to the gorge for a swim. The hike was challenging in parts. Rocks had to be climbed and negotiated but the end result was worth the effort. A very beautiful gorge. Take plenty of water as it does start to get hot out there.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Love this swimming hole and water fall. In fact my favourite on the Gibb River Road. Plenty of swimming holes to explore both above and below the waterfall.
Manning Gorge, although a bit of walk from the campground, is well worth it. Our favourite spot on the Gibb, plenty of fun to be had in the gorge. Huge campground with plenty of shade. Amenities located close to the campground entrance. Strict lights out policy, so take a torch if you need to use the facilities after 9. Washing machines available, no fresh water at the campground but plenty at the roadhouse 6kms away. Campfires allowed, no wood collecting on property though. Did I mention the gorge is excellent! And if you dont want to do the walk, there a lovely little water hole close to the campground. Stay here!
Amazing waterfalls! Well worth the 5km 1hr hilly walk.
A bit of effort required with rocky up and down sections particularly near the end. Absolutely beautiful spot with deep clear water and a sandbar in the middle
Went with Adventure Tours and it was amazing! Really beautiful and worth the walk!
Breathtaking oasis! Definitely worth the 2hr hike
Incredible!! Definitely take some time to sit under the waterfall and swim in the gorge. Walk to the waterfall then float/walk down river back to the boat crossing, takes 4 hours, or waterfall return takes 2. Beware of green ants. Nice camping, some shady spots but amenities busy and not the cleanest.
What a great place to visit, a nice relief from the Gibb River trackVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo wait
