Dear unsw admin, I am writing this review to inform you of my disappointed and utter disbelief in fact, for this library. I am a frequent studier of level 7, and for the longest time I have found great joy in doing so. However, recently it has come to my attention of the pure ageist towards the younger individuals who are in the admist of their critical HSC exams. Today I witnessed a security guard abruptly approach and raise their voice at teenagers. Although they should have been more quiet on the level, he demanded that they exit the building entirely with no warning issues. Finally, I am writing this review with the pure intention that the teens at the library deserve more respect as they are just trying to finish their final exams. Please take this into consideration and I highly respect the staff at unsw and commend them for their time and efforts but this was too far. Thank you -
I am an avid user of the UNSW library and I want to first amend all the hard work that goes through managing it, however as of recent I have felt slightly disrespected when at the library by the staff. One member of staff has kicked me off a silent level for talking when infact I wasn't which negatively impacts my studies as now I am on a talking level. Normally I wouldn't mind however their abrupt demeanour and snappy attitude made it hard for me to blow by this. I hope this review finds you well and staff can all communicate to students in a firm but respectful way to ensure everyone's experience is welcoming and belonging as majority of staff display themselves in that way.nnThank younDylan
Best library, Clean, Modern, quiet and friendly staff. The only unusual behaviour from the student was to make weird, big noises from the throat and nose all day. Is it something cultural? New student, if you adjust chairs height, then you can eliminate noisy chair friction.
You can reach the building by getting off the bus at High Street and take a short walk into the university. I love the self-check in and check out feature for books borrowers. The librarians are mostly available during business hours and they are proactively helpful. For those who like private reading/ studying, there are a lot of study space you can use.
Well maintained and a great place to study - I personally love the neutral sensory zones on levels 3 and 6 and think they are a great initiative. Can get a little crowded around midday to the afternoon but I've always managed to find a spot, being able to see the desk availability online before hand helps lots. Overall great facilities and a really great spot to get some work done or, more realistically, pretending to get some work done
