I'm not yet sure how my studies here will turn out but the first impression of the University is that it's dashingly picturesque. The staff here are also quite friendly and helpful, which is a good indicator. Will definitely come back to update this review as the program commences and goes on. Update 1: Semester 1 has been wonderful. There were a few hiccups here and there but overall, the engineering faculty delivers, the university is responsive, and everyone is so nice. Work hard, be proactive, and know where to contact and your issues are solved in a blink. I also got a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity here, which is something I couldn't be more grateful for. Looking forward to the next semester.
I had an interesting time at UOW. Although my time on campus was heavily affected by the pandemic, I nonetheless had a memorable time here that I'll remember for years. I'll be forever grateful that I was given the opportunity to attend the university and it's definitely a place that I would highly recommend to others. A great university with excellent resources and a friendly environment.
Worst University I have ever attended. UOW is not my first choice uni after graduating high school. I completely wasted one full year at this university and achieved nothing. Campus life is not what I expected and people here are so rude and overall I did not enjoy studying here. Education and resources are very mediocre, does not include textbooks, lectures and tutors have no detail whatsoever to make you learn and pass with flying colors. Exams are monitored by proctorio which is a huge invasion of privacy. Paying education fees is like dumping clean and filter water down the sink. Please find a different university to go as this one full of rubbish.
The online enrolment for UoW a nightmare. Their system doesn't work, they don't give you information they say that they will, subjects offered aren't available and you cannot check the offered subjects as they don't have a place to check within the handbook. You ring up and they don't provide you the information or their system doesn't work. Customer service is non-existent. Avoid here if you don't want to deal with a grossly underwhelming experience. I tried to explain their portal wasn't working and their only option was to defer my enrolment. I ended up telling them I will find another Uni.
You thought you were going to have nice people forget it. I don’t know about other universities but this one, your student support is a remorseless zero. The library subject study assistance impossible to get. No study groups organised via student engagement sign up system for new students. Lucky I can teach myself, that’s how I’m feeling. The pods have such encouragement for high school loud over bearing douch bags! The people act like high school prats bulling others it’s a joke, I don’t want to entertain. I want to study not play high school judgmental disrespectful I’m better than you bs. Sorry it’s disappointing your student engagement office doesn’t organise. Student engagement! This is what we pay for and what this persons roll actually is. we are paying a lot of money to be at your university. Not to put up with high school drama and zero teaching and organisational skills for subjects and students.
Graduated in 2017 MSc Logistics and Project Management. Enjoyed my time at UOW. Friendly staff, Lecturers and great campus and facilities. Highly recommended

Nice and tidy green environment!
Welcome to the University of Wollongong. In just 40 years UOW has become a benchmark for Australia’s new generation of universities; dynamic, agile, innovative and prominent in national and international rankings for the quality of our teaching and research. The University began as an institute for the then New South Wales University of Technology, Sydney at a single location in Wollongong. Since gaining independence in 1975, UOW has grown into an international multi-campus University, expanding to occupy two Sydney campuses and five regional campuses, as well as locations in Hong Kong and Dubai. With now over 36,000 students, more than 2,400 staff, and an economic impact of around $2 billion in activity annually, UOW is an influential part of its communities and the catalyst for Wollongong’s transformation into a University city. Our students and staff come from diverse backgrounds, and we welcome many international students to our campuses each year. They share a culture that respects openness, inclusiveness, collegiality and diversity. I am proud of our talented, motivated and energetic staff—many of whom are leaders in their field nationally and internationally. We aim to align our academic community and graduates with national priorities, and are focussed on producing outstanding research that addresses the complex social, environmental and economic challenges that we face now and into the future. In anticipating the nature of emergent industries and the jobs of the future, we aim to develop graduates who are ethical, mobile, technologically literate and ready for multicultural workplaces. We encourage creative and critical thinking, and encourage our students and staff to challenge and cross the boundaries of traditional disciplines and create truly interdisciplinary partnerships. We’ve focused our efforts to ensure that the UOW curriculum is intellectually challenging, models critical inquiry and real-world practice, and is delivered in technology-rich and immersive environments.
