Found myself in Launceston for the day and walked around the general area. Made my way to York Park also known as University of Tasmania UTAS Stadium and was such a great walk around the closed stadium.
Love coming down to Launceston for the football. We go every year and although it can be a little chilly the hawks always play well down there so it’s great. Way walk to stack of great bars after the game as well
I attended an AFL Game in the middle of July. Horrendous conditions. The game itself wasn't the best standard. Even though my team got the win. This place is freezing . I was lucky enough to be in the Carlton Draft Stand under cover thank goodness. The oval has a country feel for an AFL venue it's a definite must if you love our game. Plenty of Meals and Accom in Launceston. At the ground you can head right down to the fence. Food stalls are limited and outside the stadium itself and the wait time was long for an AFL Venue.
General admission is standing. Only a couple areas you can stand and you can’t really sit.nFood trucks have food and water price is reasonable.nNo policing of gronks vaping .nHopefully I’ll have a better experience next time.nOh, large car park nearby.
Utas great place to watch u17 National cricket carnival.nThe fields are first classnTurf nets and synthetic netsnPlenty spots to see the action on the field.
