I have lived at UniCentral for the past two years while studying at USC, and it has been such a positive and memorable experience. If you are looking for a place that offers convenience, community, and comfort, this is it.nnThe location is a huge highlight. It is just across the road from the university, which makes early morning lectures and late-night study sessions so much easier. You are also close to shops including Coles, Woolworths, and IGA, with easy access to buses and only a short drive to the beach. It is the perfect spot to balance study and lifestyle.nnThe apartments are fully furnished with basic kitchen items, and having your own lockable bedroom and private ensuite is a massive bonus. Each apartment also includes its own washing machine and dryer, which is covered in your rent, so there is no need to pay extra or share laundry facilities. It gives you privacy when you need it, but the shared kitchen and living areas are great for connecting with your housemates. There were definitely a few noisy nights here and there student life, right?, but overall, it was super chill and respectful. They have after-hours security who are quick to shut things down after 10 pm.nnIt is also important to mention that I rented directly through UniCentral, and I highly recommend doing the same. UniCentral manages apartments specifically for students and TAFE students, and they provide consistent support, clear communication, and a real sense of community. I would not recommend renting a UniCentral apartment through a real estate agent. Apartments managed through real estate are not connected to UniCentral’s on-site team, which means you will not get access to the same level of service, maintenance support, or fortnightly cleaning.nnMaintenance is reliable and always completed within a reasonable timeframe. Any issues I had were sorted quickly and professionally. I was always kept in the loop, especially if they were arranging for a tradesperson to fix something. The communication was clear and helpful.nnOne thing I have really learned is that your housemates can make or break the experience. My biggest advice is to step out of your comfort zone and make an effort to connect. Say hello, hang out in the common areas, and take the opportunity to build friendships. It truly makes a big difference. Some of the best memories I have were made in the shared spaces just having a laugh, cooking dinner together, movie nights, chatting about our day or late night chats. I now have friends from all over the world, and that made my stay at UniCentral so much more meaningful and enjoyable.nnThe on-site facilities have all been updated in the last year. The pool, tennis court, and basketball court have been resurfaced, and there is also a volleyball court which is great for social games. These outdoor spaces are perfect for relaxing, exercising, and spending time with friends. The staff are friendly, approachable, and excellent with communication. I always felt safe and supported with on-site management available if I needed anything.nnEven though I’m moving on to a new chapter, I am so grateful for the memories and the people I met here. UniCentral was more than just a place to live. It was a community that helped shape the start of my university journey, especially as someone who was moving out for the first time.nnIf you are heading to USC and want a place that feels like home while meeting amazing people, I would definitely recommend UniCentral.
The accommodation is in a great location—just a 5-minute walk to uni, which made getting to lectures super easy. The management team was always friendly and helpful, which definitely made a difference during my stay. While I didn’t absolutely love living here, it wasn’t a bad experience either. It had everything I needed, and overall, it was a convenient place to live as a student.nnThank-you David, Josh, Hannah & Nikol. Your hard work does not go unnoticed!
I stayed here for one semester and lived in a four person apartment. It‘s a quite place, which has everything you need own room with ensuite bathroom, shared kitchen with laundry and living room and I also had a balcony with a great view to the university and the lake. My apartment was a little bit outworn Carpet was discolored, the walls were not white anymore and the living room had very old furniture. In the winter, the room became quite cold and windows didn’t isolated very good. You have to buy linen packs bed things and bath towels and you have to buy every month for internet 100 GB for 40 dollars, 200 for 50 and unlimited for 70 plus a router for 70 dollars. But the location was just great and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It’s really close to the university 5 Minutes and there is on the other side of the road another student accommodation. There were all the parties and nightlife, but the Uni Central was very quite. I met alot of people and had friends, who lived there and the most said if they could they would change.nnConclusion: In my opinion, it’s a good location to live and study at the university. If you are new there, it’s a great possibility to meet new people and make some friends. You have everything you need. But the price-performance ratio isn’t very good for what you get too expensive. The next time, I would looking for a house with a few friends.nnTipp: If you are going to stay for a year or longer. Just enroll for a semester and look for other options when you are there sharing a house with some friends or something else. Extensions will be available later.nnHave a good time, the Sunshine Coast is amazing!
BEWARE OF TOTALLY RENTALS. I write this review in hope that other parents with young adults moving to USC are made aware of the bad experience our family had when moving our daughter to UniCentral. We did not go through them direct as their units were already full so we found a property manager who managers a few apartments independently on Uni Central Campus. They are not affiliated with UniCentral.nWe dealt with TRACEY HORSEFALL from Totally Rentals. Everything went smoothly until the day my daughter Lauren and I moved her in.nThe common area had not been cleaned and certainly was not ready for students to move into. The front screen door did not lock, there was vermon faeces on the floor where the back sliding door was, the curtains were dirty and didn't close properly. and the kitchen and inside cupboards were a disgrace. It needed a good deep clean which I would have expected to already have been done prior to students moving in. I know that our own investment properties would never have been passed like this by our Property managers.nLauren sent an email voicing her concerns and it took Tracey weeks before anything got started on. This was the start of many calls to the Residential Tenancies Authority RTA and breach forms completed and forwarded to Tracey with slow responses each time.nAnother massive issue that Tracey had not been transparent about was there would only be 3 students we were told 4 including Laurenwhen we arrived and that instead. Tracey told us on the day Lauren moved in that she would be working out of one of the room 2-3 days a week which we believed to be very unethical and unprofessional.nIn the end, Lauren broke her lease and moved out. What a horrible start to the beginning of her Uni life, made harder having all her family so far away in Adelaide.nLauren had very disappointing experience indeed.
Stayed here for 5 months about 2 months ago as a interstate university student. The managers of UniCentral are incredible and so kind but unfortunately I rented through Totally Rentals. I cannot express enough how poorly I was treated whilst my time renting through Totally Rentals. Tracey is the owner of Totally rentals. The day I moved in I learnt that she was renting one of the rooms in my house as her office. She also had one of the carparks even though she technically did not live there. I was unaware of this before moving in and would not have moved in if I had known. I was told that there were 3 other girls I would be moving in with.nnBeing awoken at 6am every Wednesday and Friday with Tracey coming into my house to start work was not okay. When I advised her that I felt uncomfortable with her office being in my house I was met with hostility and rudeness. She did not care that I felt uncomfortable with her walking in and out of my house at any time of the day.nnArriving into my unit unit 22 I was greeted with a huge mess, mould growing inside the house, dead cockroaches on the floor and just an overall messy place. When getting in contact with Tracey owner of totally rentals it took her months to get the house professionally cleaned. I could go on and on about the negative things that happened whilst I lived here.nnOverall, I would recommend Unicentral to new students as it is a nice and cheap place to find your feet but I would strongly advise you to not go with Tracey. Go straight through UniCentral even if you have to be on a waitlist. There is a reason Tracey always has rooms available.nnDO NOT GO THROUGH TOTALLY RENTALS
