I live super far away but was in the area and intrigued by the sign went up to check out the facilities. Told the receptionist that I wasn't going to sign up but just wanted to have a look around for interest sake, normally I would have expected that to be cold shoulder material but she never batted an eye lid and just called up the manager to make sure it was all good. Got the all clear and the membership executive legend named Bo came out to give me a full tour and walk me around the facilities including taking me into the octagon for a quick shadow box. Absolute legend wasn't deterred by the fact I wasn't a customer and took a good 20 minutes out of his day just to show a random around. He seemed very proud of the facilities and the work the trainers do. Service aside deadset the best facilities I have ever seen in a gym. Insane mix of weights, machines, calisthenics, cross training, martial arts gear, indoor and outdoor training areas both with all the gear, showers and sauna. If I didn't 1.5 hrs away I would be there for sure. Almost worth moving for.
I'm typically not a fan of gyms, but I really like this one. I'm into mixed martial arts so I feel very happy here. Great facilities, interior design... I enjoy the natural light and open plan design. Awesome range of classes and the equipment is great, too. I've never had any issues finding a parking space. Recently I had to freeze my account for 3 months and that was completely accommodated by the management. The change rooms are beautiful and clean with saunas, ghd and even ironing boards, so I feel pretty damn good when I leave the gym after a workout. I must say that I find the guys pretty respectful as well. I wouldn't train anywhere else.
Objectively, a reasonably priced gym with nice facilities. Facilities include octagon ring, MMA stuff obviously, cross fit, body building, cross training, Olympic lifting and even some gymnastics equipment. Was offered approximately 20-25 per week for monthly contract apparently reduced down in a one time offer from 70 per week. The reason why i disliked it so much is that I didn't like the sales pitch by the manager and felt really pressured into spending money straight away. It almost made me feel like I was speaking to a car salesman. The manager also seemed to get visibly flustered when I asked to think about his offer and kept saying that he has to "run a business". Pretty much that's the feel I got: it was just a business and only promotes customer service, satisfaction or engagement if you are willing to pay for it. To be fair, he did offer me a free trial class the next day to see if I liked the place, but by that time I had already made up my mind. Go there if you don't mind that sort of stuff because, as I said, it appeared to be nice gym with good equipment. Personally, I like a less in-your-face attitude from the staff members and the manager, so it definitely wasn't for me. Also, it is worth nothing that the hrs are 5 am to 10 pm on weekdays and 7am to 7pm on weekends. Again, reasonable, but not that competitive in terms of opening hrs flexibility, especially for busy people working in the city that regularly finish work at 8 pm.
Absolutely disgusting sales tactic! Management are top level swindlers!!! I signed up for the gym on a 153 dollar one off fee which included 2 weeks fee if i choose to cancel. When I went to cancel, they said i had to come in and sign forms. They charged me an extra 4 weeks just for cancelling was never informed of this!! I wanted to go berserk on the lady but I kept my cool and didn't cause a scene. On a seperate note, equipment is good...but peak hours are always busy with classes and none of the open areas grappling, octagon, kicking bag available for training. Maybe it is good for beginners, but if u want to use the gym in peace, forget about it! I wouldn't suggest on joining this gym as hours are also very limited only open till 10pm. Please also beware of the aggressive pushy sales tactics. I don't even know why they do that.....very outdated and makes u think there is something wrong with the gym....which there is
Overall pretty good experiences. I’ve been training in here for almost 2 years. Lovely staff and good classes. The only thing I’m not really happy about is that they kept it a secret when they had known that the UFC was changed to Crunch Fitness the beginning of this year. And my last membership was due the end of last year, I’m sure they’d already known about this news but didn’t tell me about that when i was convinced to renew my contract. And I paid lot more than Crunch fitness members but only found myself belong to neither UFC nor strictly Crunch fitness later. However, I still like this place.
The classes are awesome and well worth joining up. In saying that I agree with the other poster that the sales guys can be overly aggressive which nearly put me off signing up. I also tried all sorts gym down the road and it's ok if you're into the pool stuff , but they hire out the pool to schools and stuff so you can't go anytime you want. The weights are good but not super comprehensive, which doesn't bother me. we're allowed free access to all crunch gyms also.
I love this place. I joined up before it opened due to proximity to home and hating the 24/7 Snap Fitness gym I was a member of. The staff remember your name and always take the time to smile and welcome you and also say goodbye as you leave. There are always cleaners on the floor doing the rounds ensuring everything is in order. The equipment is great and so many different things to try. Due to the size, even in rush hours there is plenty of room to move!
The Member Services Manager is never available to talk to you. After several phone calls each day for about 1 week I managed to speak to her. I have been waiting for my refund of $650 for nearly two weeks. She advised that the request has been sent to the accounts department, however she was unable to speak to them to determine when I get my review. I've had to cancel my membership as I've been offered a Job overseas. This circus has added to my stress, I am so happy that I didn't end up committing to this gym. DO NOT LET them talk you into a one off payment. The stress is just not worth it! I will be taking them to a small claims court in they don't get their act together.
I have checked many gyms and find that UFC gym are setting the standard in providing a 'one stop shop' with great facilities and many types of classes. When I entered the gym, I braced myself for a sales pitch and outdated sales techniques, but actually my joining experience was quite pleasant. I didn't quite like that they collect so much personal information before joining, but I can understand that collecting leads and converting them into memberships is very important for them. Other reviewers may have had less pleasant initial experiences than mine but don't let this deter you. Once you get through the joining process, you will find that they actually have a very good gym. At the sparring class, many people including the coaches seem to pick and choose their fights. This isn't quite in the spirit of martial arts, which is about developing the ability to take on challenges. But then, there are often new faces there and you never quite know what they are going to be like, so I suppose people are just being cautious. It could be said that the classes are 'martial arts for the masses' but it is unfair to expect them to be 'all things for all people'. What they do provide is very good.
Absolutely disgusted after my experience at UFC gym today. Went in to try the 30 days for $30 special and left in tears after being bullied into joining by two sales men for over an hour - despite saying no at least 4 times. I get that you want to get people to join and have to give a sales pitch but this is absolutely wrong behavior. The fees, costs and restrictions weren’t explained properly till I’d signed the contracts and it came time to pay. I cannot believe how they behaved and don’t recommend it!
