On the way to Cooktown, I stopped in and purchased a "high quality" $30 jet lighter and 2 pouches of tobacco and was encouraged to keep my reciept should anything go wrong with the lighter. I returned 4 days later, having problems with the lighter and the store lady not the same person who sold it proceeded to give me the most heinous customer service experience of my life. I'm not sure if she was just unhappy with all of her life choices up to this point, but it was a scarring experience. This shopkeeper, with lighter in hand repeatedly NOT lighting as one would expect, told me to my face that it was perfectly fine... I recently had an eye test and am quite confident in my ability to judge if a lighter is lit or not. Also, I was told I was not allowed to purchase a replacement lighter either. The customer certainly is always wrong at TSG Mareeba, but they are the only store with jet lighters in the town. It's worth the 30km drive to Atherton. Such a shame after a rather reasonable first experience.
