I attended a four-five hour class here for hands on french cooking and it was a wonderful time. I learned so much and Walter Trupp is a very skilled and informative but laid back teacher. Everything was provided including aprons, but make sure you wear comfortable protective shoes. We were a small class of about eight, and we worked in pairs, each pair making two or three absolutely delicious dishes which we eventually plated and transferred to the adjacent dining room, where we all took a deep breath before diving in and becoming gluttons. (Note to self .. next time bring some takeaway containers with me). It was all totally delicious and I have since used a number of the recipes again to great acclaim from my recipient friends. Highly recommended.

As a single person you feel out of place. You’re automatically paired with someone which makes it feel like an awkward tinder date. Especially if the other person is cold and distant. Nil orientation to the kitchen and I was tempted to jump ship early but pushed through due to the amount I paid. Kitchen is a nice layout though. Following my review on Facebook, I received a very “ranty” reply plus uninvited text message from the owner as he was unable to accept my personal view of the experience. Apparently you can only leave reviews if they’re positive. As I stated in my reply, just cut your losses and move on like any other good business person would.

We booked a course in March this year, but our courses were cancelled on numerous occasions for various reasons, sometimes at very short notice. Our money was refunded quickly, but we were left a little disappointed in not being able to attend the course. Several months later, the owners got in touch to explain that there were some extenuating circumstances which led to the cancellations, but this was not offered until 6 months later. We hope for a more positive experience in the future.

Thoroughly recommend classes with chef Walter Trupp. he has perfected the experience of learning to cook into a wonderfully enjoyable, educational and delicious enterprise. The classes are well thought out and using only the best fresh ingredients, all dishes are created from the fully equipped state of the art chef's kitchen, and thoroughly enjoyed in the delightfully social setting of dining around a table together with your classmates over a glass of wine. Each pair cooks a dish at a time, surmounting in an impressive array of flavours and courses to taste at the end of class when all the dishes are brought together. Chef Trupp takes good care of his students and is always looking out to make one's experience all the more fulfilling through his teaching and accommodating approach. I really appreciate the opportunity to have experienced the Beginners classes as well as a class that is more specialised, Signature Dishes, having learnt many new skills in both and had a great time. If I were to have remained local to the area, I would have gone to many,many more of the classes. Wonderful fun and absolutely delicious - can only recommend!

I have been to as many of Walters classes that time permits. Walter is a great chef and patient teacher and what I love about his classes is that they are all hands on. No demonstration classes here. During the preparation Walter demonstrates tricks of the trade that you would otherwise not find out about. Best of all...at the end of the cooking you all sit down together with Walter and eat the food with accompanying wine. I must not forget Dorotta either as her insights into Heath and food are second to none. This is a must do for anyone who is into food.
