We didn’t read any reviews before going to this restaurant and you know what I’m glad we didn’t or we may not have gone. The owner was on his own and doing a bloody great job. Warm friendly and jovial chap who’s business along with many others are slowly getting back on track. Pizzas were amazing, pasta was beautiful, and the fact we were two families having a great night out overshadowed what others see as imperfections. Hell he was such a great host we even helped clear his tables. We had good food and good banter, so much so went went back again the next night. So thank you tribeca pizza. We will be back.
My partner & I went here last night. Ordered a med & large pizza to eat in. Also 2 glasses of Shiraz . It was all disgusting. The wine was revolting, served in a water glass, as was the sugar on the table , a water glass filled with sugar. His kids splayed out on the seats. He was more interested in watching Tina Arena on the TV. I wanted to complain to him personally but you just know when someone is not going to listen. We waited quite a while but that’s ok, but the pizzas were like eating cardboard. No flavour, nothing. My husband asked for his to be well cooked, well done base !! Almost raw base, cold and disgusting. We sat there waiting for him to take his eyes off the TV & ask us why we’re not eating!! But no chance. We took a couple of bites each and couldn’t stomach any more. When we left he yelled out “want that in a box “ so he obviously saw we didn’t hardly touch it . When we said no thanks he just responded “OK” What a waste of money. Never again. I never feel the need to write a negative review so that just tells you how bad it was. This is Melbourne. So much competition. I don’t know how he stays open.
This almost-literal hole in the wall pizza joint certainly has some divisive reviews – mostly negative. I thought I would roll the dice and give them a try. The decor i.e. tables full of receipts and documents certainly could use a makeover, but I wasn't dining in so it didn't bother me too much. The owner and pizza chef are definitely eccentric fellows, but not outright objectionable by any means. The Calzone Farcito was fine – nothing to write home about. The dough was fragrant and tasty, but there was too much of it; it wasn't stuffed like a calzone should be. Also, it could have done with more flavour – nothing a sprinkling of chilli flakes couldn't fix though. The Calabrese Pizza was much better – good quality, delicious toppings, and they covered the pizza well. Would I come back? Probably not, but if you're craving a good, old-fashioned hangover-curing pizza from across the street, then you can't go wrong.
Despite some negative reviews, decided to give them a go as they were close to my accommodation: friendly husband and wife team, slightly slower than I would have liked, but not by much. Pizza crust was lovely, light, crispy. Decent amount of toppings, nice BBQ chicken flavour combination. I won't say it was the best I've ever had, but it was very nice and I'm happy to recommend them. I'd go there again.
I’m skeptical of the negative 1 star reviews that this place has received. Many were from people who’d only ever written 1 review and they were all posted at the same time. Deciding to come here was in fact, a great decision. Located in an arcade between Victoria Parade and Albert Street, it’s protected from the bustle of Melbourne’s street noise. I ordered a gourmet Moroccan lamb pizza in a small size for $13. Good value. Just the perfect amount for me. Taste was superb, with very nice pasta base which are made onsite and not prepackaged as is becoming more common and tender lamb with capsicum, spinach and tzarziki drizzled over the lot. Managed to snap some photos of what else was being served. Although a weeknight, it was pretty busy and doing a brisk trade. Well patroned by the staff and visitors to the nearby hospital and health care facilities in the area, Tribeca is a favourite with those locals who consistently return for their pizza and pasta fix. plus when there is a game at ‘The G’, fans flock here for their pre or post game food fox. Greg is the host who keeps this place buzzing. His enthusiasm for his business is infectious and customer service is outstanding. Encouraging to know that Friday and Saturday nights are now rocking with live music and a DJ. Plus there is seating outside undercover for the warmer parts of the year. Tribeca endeavour to cater for dietary requirements. Wheelchair friendly. In fact saw a double pram make it through the door when I was here. Kid friendly. High chairs available. Parking isn’t too bad. Just make sure you know what the times are on the signs as the inspectors can be quick off the mark.
Lovely pizza. Absolutely delicious . Highly recommend the tandoori chicken. There was a 30min wait which was totally expected at a busy restaurant. Nice cosy atmosphere. The staff were very friendly.
What a waste of money. We ordered two pizzas and a garlic focaccia, and all three were cold and hard. The pizzas were so dry and hard that they snapped and and were difficult to swallow. Not only was the quality bad, they weren't even made as described. The magherita did not have mozzerella and had cheap, dusty parmesan sprinkled on top and no sauce aside from what was baked hard onto what seemed to be a pre-made base. The other pizza was supposed to have cherry tomatoes, rocket, mozerella and artichokes. There was cold, tinned, diced tomatoes instead, a handful of spinach instead of rocket, no artichokes which I was still charged for, and no mozerella again. After calling the restaurant and politely describing the issue, the man refused to listen, told us he knew how to make pizza, and didn't offer a refund, not even for the toppings that were missing from the pizza. We were starving and still couldn't come close to finishing the food. Atrocious service, bad presentation and terrible food - don't waste your money.
Disgusting! NEVER order from here. I ordered lasagne and it was beyond bad! It was unrecognisable as lasagne. There were no layers of pasta. It was like dog slop!
The worst food place we have ever been to in the world! Many items on the menu were not available. We then waited two hours for our food. 3 of the orders were incorrect. The pasta was congealed and gluggy. When we approached the worker he was dismissive and rude. And would not accept any of the blame. We still did not receive a portion of chips that we ordered and in the end just went home extremely hungry and disappointed. Would not eat here ever again. Unless you've got 3 hrs spare and your not that hungry don't ever enter this place!!!!
The food was absolutely revolting reheated pasta gave us the wrong pasta said there was no penne because of the covid. That is what the owner said just lazy cooking and bad business. The pasta had been frozen not freshly cooked. Where we had sat he had dirty laundry sitting near me the place was very dirty looking . The health inspector needs to shut this place down. His food practices aren't up to scratch local councils should be checking these places a lot more and check their hygiene
