Transit Espresso

The food wasn't terrible. But the cafe itself was a complete mess. There where tables that hadn't been cleared since breakfast and the teapot and our tea cups were dirty - one cup had detergent in it. It completely ruined the experience and made you question the safety of the food. The staff although not unpleasant were completely incompetent and had to be asked multiple times for things like sugar for the tea.

As a regular commuter on the GWH I tried the Transit cafe, Ordered pumpkin soup and coffee, price OK. Soup delivered and I was told the bowl was hot, no soup spoon not a problem but disappointing. Soup however cold except a crusty ring around the rim, the little I ate was OK and bread OK. Coffee came with no saucer, I asked where it was and was asked if I want one, I said a cup usually comes with a saucer, the coffee was luke warm. I do not take sugar but there was none there and no spoon - I suppose that without a saucer there was nothing to put the tea spoon or sugar on. I had watched the disrupton caused by the highway widening and felt they should be patronised but I will think again.

Man, I've given these guys 3 or 4 chances, but they aren't there yet. Overcooked coffee, slow / non-existent service, it just smacks of a lack of experience and competency.
