The Tramway Museum, St Kilda, located 30 minutes North of the Adelaide CBD, is a working museum that preserves and operates Adelaide's tramway history.
The Tramway Museum, St Kilda Road, St Kilda, off Pt Wakefield Road, preserves and operates Adelaide's tramway history on its 1.6km track from the Museum site to the Adventures Playground at St Kilda Beach.
With a total of 27 trams in the collection, over half of these are regularly operated between 12 noon and 5pm each Sunday, Public Holiday and on Wednesday during School Holidays. Tickets cover all rides during the afternoon. Group visits and private hiring's are also welcome.
At the Museum, three pavilions house trams and trolley buses on display, and a dedicated display gallery and other displays show the progression of street transport history in Adelaide from the horse trams, through the electric tram era, to buses, and to the revitalisation of Adelaide's tramway network.
Other attractions at St Kilda include the Mangrove Trail and Boardwalk, Adventure Playground, and the historic St Kilda Hotel.
