I had a very disappointing experience at this GP clinic. I am a foreigner and this was one of my first experiences using medical services in Australia, and unfortunately it was not a good one. I went to this clinic a few days ago for something very simple: I wanted to get a vaccine. When I started explaining my situation to the doctor, the appointment lasted less than 5 minutes. He told me that he was not sure whether he could give me the vaccine and said that I needed to go to the hospital for an assessment. He wrote a referral letter and sent me to the Emergency Department at Townsville University Hospital. I honestly never understood why I was sent to Emergency. I assume it may have been related to a possible gynecological check, but this was never clearly explained to me. I followed his instructions and went to the hospital with the letter, but at Emergency they refused to see me because my case was not an emergency. They told me very clearly that the vaccine could be given at a GP clinic and that the GP could also refer me to a specialist if needed. They told me to go back to the GP. When I returned to the clinic and explained that the hospital did not attend me, the only response I received was that I should book another appointment with a different doctor. No one tried to help me or find a solution. English is not my first language, which made the situation even more frustrating. In the end, I lost a lot of time and paid $95 for an appointment that lasted no more than 7 minutes and solved nothing.nnAccording to my invoice, the doctor who attended me was Dr Gamage. I don't recommend this clinic at all. If you decide to come here, I strongly suggest choosing another doctor or going to a different GP clinic altogether.
Horrible experience. I went in for a medically necessary breast reduction referral. As I’ve been dealing with big breast for my entire life I explained all the issues it causes me, she didn’t even check! She literally just berated me about my weight. I have been skinny and still have breast issues! I also told her I lost 35kg and working on my weight but my breast are still a huge issue and hinder me from working out. Don’t go here. Definitely getting a referral else where. Dr. Farhat Ahmed is horrible!
I don’t recommend this clinic. I was a regular there and went there deep in grief after losing my mother for assistance filling in a form provided to me by my mothers insurer and the doctor accused me of fraud. I explained my situation and the dr refused to even look up the form number which supported what I was saying and that I was correct. She even said to me “how do I know your mother is even dead” I tried explaining that is not for her to determine, all she needed to do was assess me and say that I was indeed grieving and the insurer would “prove” she had passed as they were the ones who contacted me about this form. It was a horrible experience and it caused me great anxiety. I was shocked to be so disregarded! Thankfully I was able to see another dr at a different clinic who was understanding, supportive and researched the form. Do not go to this clinic for anything other than the absolute basic of needs. They are ill equipped to handle it anything that is slightly more complex. The only reason I am posting this review is because they did not respond to my complaints via email but they seem to respond here.
Super stars! Very, very happy with the fast, efficient and excellent health care and advice from this clinic. I have made 2 visits and both times I got resolution to my issues. Thank-you very much and keep going with the excellent work.
Dr Salma is just the best Doctor. Literally saved my life.nDiagnosed burst appendix, sent me to hospital, called hospital on my behalf, again whilst I was there. Surgery next day, burst appendix caused internal ulceration which created sepsis. Found a heart condition whilst there. 8 days hospital then three weeks recovering so I could have heart surgery replacing an aortic heart valve that had two leaflets joined together reducing blood flow by 35%. Non smoker, non drinker, athletic sports oriented. No issue before that I noticed.nThanks Dr Salma
