Shane does a great job at the helm of Torpeas restaurant. I was in Braidwood for the night and had an excellent meal while parked by the fire on a cold night. The place has a real historical rural ambience. Some great music fills the air while you await your meal and the history of the building, which dates back maybe to early last century, is everywhere. An excellent Aussie red wine accompanied an excellent meal. Highly recommended.
Great food and a nice cozy atmosphere. Lovely spot to break the drive down to the coast. Highly recommended, and my musical education is always advanced by a visit.
My rare scotch fillet was perfect and my uncles lamb sheperd pie was to-die-for. This place has a warm fire with books and places to play board games. Overall a great place to chill and have fun. He does coffee and if you need a beer he's got you covered. What are you waiting for?!
If your looking for great food, amazing atmosphere and a perfect evening then Torpea’s is the place! We have been coming here for years and it never disappoints. It always has food that is delicious, great service and a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Warm and cosy in winter and the ultimate summer chill evening! My husband and I are super fussy to to say how great this restaurant is it saying a lot. We travel 4 hours to eat here! Stop in on your way through, or even take the drive, totally worth it!!!!
We love TorPeas. It's funky and unique. Exactly the kind of place suited to our tribe. Great food. Great prices. Go there when You're driving through Braidwood. - Oh and in Winter there's an open fire!
Small, cosy and quirky. Only had hot drinks, but found it a very welcoming. We were offered arm chairs by one of the two open fireplaces, with bpoks and boardgames available. The hot chocolates and coffees were very tasty, apparently using locally sourced, unhomogenised milk. Very welcome stop on a cold winter's night
After a very warm welcome, our entrée and drinks were served promptly. The menu has plenty of gluten free options, and the gf "Warm 'n Snuggly Dojo bread" was very nice. The mains were great, salmon cooked perfectly and rabbit pie yum.
Enjoyed a lovely lunch. Menu has a great selection in the entre and mains. Yummy Chicken Pot Pie. Would have liked a bit more to chose from for dessert.
Love the kitsch feel. Velvet armchairs, groovy lamp shades, jigsaw puzzles, chess, fireplaces. Groovy 90's house music - oh and great food! Love the place.!!
Great atmosphere. Big servings. Meal was delicious. Steak cooked perfectly. Wish i had room for baklava and macadamia icecream
