I used to go there to enjoy. but so disappointed they refused to use my coupon. Before lockdown I called them to ask and they said anytime we can use. I wasted my $78. Probably never go back. I'm so unhappy.
Sadly, this is not what Tony's use to be. It use to have an energy about it and was fun. Online bookings only give you a table away from the bar/chef. Service was not great and "buffet" definitely was not all you can eat. You end up waiting close to 40+ mins with kids and give up on it. One plus was they took the buffet part off the meal after I complained about the wait.
Not good value for money, could go elsewhere like amaterrace with this money and have better teppanyaki food in a better environment. Staff were nice and friendly though, the stars are for them.Food: 2/5
Tried last night for the first time, and found the food to be excellent -- fresh and very flavourful. The whitefish was exceptionally delicious! The chefs were quiet & concentrating on cooking, which was fine, it allowed my partner and I to chat instead, but could be disappointing if someone is coming & expecting a show. We came for delicious food and were not disappointed. Had the all-you-can-eat teppanyaki, and did not need to ask for more -- the standard dishes were very generous.
Food was very nice but also very rushed. We had ordered an expensive wine which was only half finished at the end of our meal, which shows how quickly our food was presented to us. We had not finished our food, when suddenly the chef appeared with a spray bottle to clean the area in front of us, not appreciated, and when quizzed, he said he wanted to go home. Well, we had been there less than an hour, and it was still an hour to go to their advertised closing time, so we felt we were inconvenicing them by staying. Why did they give us a table at 7.30pm, if they wanted to close at 8.30pm, instead of 9.30pm as advertised. We had expected a pleasant dining experience but found rushed food, lack of usual service and then cleaning up in front of us while finishing our meal and wine inappropriate.
Excellent service, fresh tasty food , and plenty of it, took note of my salmon allergy well..only disappointment was the lack of entertainment I was expecting , yes, they cooked in front of you ,...but there was none of the showmanship, thrown food , twirling , chopping knives, etc that I was looking forward to .
Easy to book and get front row seat for teppanyaki. Arrived to friendly waiting staff and very smiley, skillful Jimmy behind the teppanyaki hot plate. Lots of food being preparred a good 'fire soon' warning happening. All the food through the miso, sea food, various meats, vegetables and deserts were prepared well as ordered and delicious. Great variety in the menu from food and drinks. The Orion beer was very good and served beautifully cold. Service was great and toilets were very clean. Child friendly and they seemed to be enjoying.
Without doubt one of our worst experiences in a very tired old shabby restaurant. We could not hear the conversation due to the noise from the fans over the hot plate, we asked if this could be addressed, the chief abruptly said no !! Then we were getting wet from the rain coming through the ceiling in 3 separate places, so we asked to be moved to a table... the chief said "I am not paid enough wages to put up with your complaints " and carried on cooking......our wet jackets clearly not convincing enough ...so we simply moved to a table. The other staff new about the rain coming in, but seemed not to care. All of the toliets had run out of paper towels with about a 35% table occupancy , not a busy night at all and again the staff simply smiled when told. Food avg to poor the requested MR steak was well done and tough. After all the complaints they still charged us $300 and no apology...a place to be avoided at all costs .
We had an amazing dining experience here. We had a set menu with every item cooked to perfection and of very high quality. The service was friendly, efficient, I will definitely be going back!
Delicious food, great service with a smile! We went for an overdue date night and had the All You Can Eat, plus drinks and dessert. Photo is of the Trio dessert.
