About

Fine dining, hatted restaurant and function centre, serving local produce and wines.

Story

Enticing palates since the very beginning, Tonic is both an icon and an asset to the quaint village of Millthorpe.
Renowned Chef Tony Worland and his family established Tonic in 2003 with a view to provide a level of fine dining experienced only in our major cities.
The vast menu centres around an array of fresh local produce, paired with a list of local award winning wines.
Whether it is for a special occasion, or Saturday dinner, Tonic prides itself on delivering a level of service that will have you savouring every mouthful.
Tonic’s function centre, the historic ‘Frapes’ picture theatre, has been carefully restored and creates the perfect ambience for your next function – whether it be a wedding, engagement, special birthday or conference. Capacity is 130 people.
From the streetscape of yesteryear, enjoy a meal and glass of wine or celebrate your next special occasion in our beautiful theatre – the options are endless.
Whatever the occasion, we hope to see you soon.

Lovely meal, a five course degustation with wine suggestions for each course. Liked the fresh figs as a finale but not on brioche. It didn't add to the dish. Great lamb, smoked trout and date tart and great surroundings.
Superb 5 course menu. Delightful matching wines. Many local wines. Staying overnight in Milthorpe, treat yourself and partner to this outstanding restaurant. All staff were fabulous. Special mention to Holly for her attention to detail and bubbly Outlook. Plenty of room for current regulations.
Tonic really surpassed our expectations in terms of value, quality, service and location. Wouldn't hesitate to return.
Loved the experience. Can’t wait to return. Beware the train timetable on a weekend ... 7:30am departure from Sydney.. arrived for lunch @ 2pm! Caught the return train back at 4pm so not really time to savor the food, wines and service. The restaurant accommodated our late arrival with grace.
Food is great and well priced. 80$ for delicious 5 courses is great. I'd compare it to Hubert in Sydney. However, the paintings needs to be changed as they don't reflect the ambiance and the vibe of the village. Please change the paintings.
Not too bad. Two very good dishes out of five.
