I have been going to Tommy Gun for years and always enjoyed their new and second hand records, t-shirts and CDs. The staff over the years have been friendly and helpful. Being a collector for 50 plus years I know how to handle and respect the vinyl. A few months ago whilst inspecting a 5 dollar bargain box record I was keen to purchase for damage I was surprised by the female assistants appearance to question and consequently chastise me because i was checking the album out for flaws. I was told abruptly that in future all inspections of albums must be done at the front counter under this woman's supervision. This is the second incident with the same person, and I let the previous incident go but after this I haven't been back to the store. I have worked in retail for many years and frequented many record shops here, the mainland and overseas and haven't experienced this kind of rude service before.
The guys are very friendly, and it feels like a proper record store, like the ones I used to rummage around in during the 80s and 90s. There is new and old/second hand vinyl, so you cab always pick up a bargain. We'll worth a look.
Really good music store, has lots of albums from popular to some more unknown bands at good prices. You can find some pretty good stuff out the back in the $5 boxes too.
Dropped $700 here in a single visit. Such a great range, competitive prices a few cheaper than amazon and lovely staff! Will definitely be back to waste my paychecks
