Came to get some dinner on a weeknight and I will never be going back. I recommend going somewhere else. It was a 20 minute wait after ordering, and whilst I can accept that for good chips, these were far from that standard. The portions were incredibly small, and the takeaway containers they used were only half full. When I asked about serving sizes it would have been nice for the guy to explain that they actually only fill them half way. Whilst I accept that there will always be brown marks on chips, a not insignificant potion of the chips were either green or had lots of marks. There was also an odd taste, so I'm not sure if the oil needed changing, or what was going on. Happy to accept I might have just come on a bad night. But it was truly off-putting.
Tried eating at this place just to try it out. The fish was by far the BEST I have ever had in any fish and chip store. It literally melted in your mouth when you ate eat. Great stuff!
This place used to be great about a year ago, now you pay $60 worth of food that will make up a very unsatisfactory meal, because a handful of chips will definitively feed a family of four. I get that prices have gone up, doesn't mean the food proportions go down. Only positives: got three extra scallops. Negatives: never coming back again. Dietary restrictions: If i was on a diet, this would be perfect.
Good little local fish n chips. We were surprised at how cheap it was. The food that came out was ok. The service by the young girl was fantastic. A Lot of enthusiasm which was very pleasant to see.Food: 3/5
Conclusion: Pretty good fish and chips - Friendly greeting and farewell. Review: 7th June 2021 Store :Stafford heights I had researched this place prior to attending and saw mostly good reviews and a few bad ones. Since there were more positive than negative I thought I'd give them a go. I walked in about 19:30 closing time 20:00 and was instantly greeted by the girl see pictures in a friendly way with a smile :D I ordered the fish chips for 1 deal plus an additional potato scallop and paid via paywave then went outside to wait since covid is still active throughout the world While outside I looked around and observed a man cooking my chips girl takes orders, man cooks the food - Possibly father / daughter I also observed some not so prominent hand written signs on the front of the counter saying "No waiting inside - Thankyou :D Yes has a smilie face This wasn't so obvious and looked like it was made with a pencil. I have no issue with this as outside is still ok plus covid still exists. Outside there is a semi enclosed clear type covered area with socially distanced chairs inside it for waiting Open on 2 sides to allow air flow but still protect you from the cold breeze in winter. This is a tiled area enclosed area extension of the footpath into the parking area. see picture As you can guess the place is currently take away only no inside dining due to covid and this is obvious by the way the tables inside are blocked from use . My overall thoughts on this place are... Decent fish and chips will visit again , friendly greeting and quick service I was the only one there at the time although the female did receive a phone call order I assume. Their prices aren't the cheapest around nor are the most expensive. My only gripe would be that when eating the piece of Cod the batter came off the pieces I was breaking off not sure why. I should have got a better grip on it I guess. This didn't ruin the meal though. Additional note: Chips are fairly crispy and thin which I like [not as thin as muckdonalds thank goodness ] but still thin.
The go-to fish and chips in McDowall/Everton Park and surrounds. Its an older looking takeaway but the food is always hot and fresh. Popular with locals and tasty too.Food: 5/5
Good, tasty, value fish n chips. A larger piece of cod for the price. It was all hot and fresh though we did pick up. I don't trust delivery services to get it to me before it's cold and soggy.
Good fish and chips at a really good price and value for money. Only complaint, every time I call to order, they tell me a certain time 15, 20, 30mins. No matter what it is, when I arrive I ended up having to wait much longer. Would be better if they were more honest about their times.
Great food. Good value for money and Fresh prepared. Definitely coming back again.
The best fish-n-chips anyone can ever get. If you ever want fish-n-chips for dinner Tommo's Fish and Chippery is place to go, even when you order from Menu Log. Definitely get every time.
