Story

`Tokyo Syokudo is just the same as one of those great little restaurants you find in a Tokyo backstreet, except it's on Croydon's main retail strip. Syokudo means a "small street restaurant" small being the operative word.' (Simon Thomsen, 2011)

Although it is a little restaurant, we serve fresh and excellent quality Japanese cuisine.
Enjoy and experience fantastic traditional Japanese dining at our 'Syokudo'.

Good value Japanese food in Croydon. The sushi is fresh and tasty. And the lunchboxes are great value.
Lovely family style Japanese restaurant, not much seat but warm service, food is delicious and good for value.
This restaurant used to be really good, but now they changed the name to Ronin Japanese’s, and potentially changed the ownership as well. Now the serving speed is extremely slow, 50mins for 1 very small dish. Not recommend.
Nice little Japanese diner - they do close early and have limited tables 5 tables, including outdoors! so be sure to book.

I had takeaway last night; gyoza, chicken namban & beef briskit; delicious highly recommended!
Went with a friend and the level of service we experienced was disgusting. Both the waitress and owner were rude. How does anyone put up with this is beyond me.
