Went to the library today because it was raining and cold and it was such a warm and cozy space, my children and I were reluctant to leave. There was a box that had some free books for children and in the adults’ section, 2 trolleys of books went for $2 each. I snagged 2. The staff members were lovely and even dressed for the festive season. I really appreciate the way the NZ libraries make their space accessible and exciting for children of all ages. Puzzles, toys for babies, open space for children to sprawl and read. There was even an enclosed space for crawlers to wander and an outdoor play zone. Wonderful!

Amazing quiet and a create place to work

Excellent library with an outstanding dedicated children’s area. Fabulous selection of books, great toys, lovely dedicated areas for reading, outdoor area and lovely staff. Also they have baby changing facilities. It was such a pleasure to visit here and I would rate it the best library we have been to so far. Thanks again

Lovely library in the heart of Timaru. Plenty of spaces to sit and work, with charging points at every table, and a nice vibe throughout!nnThe toilets are really well done and nice and clean. There's even a sharps bin, which is wonderful to see. A note on the door said you could request a Dignity pack from the librarians, which is also a welcome sight.
