Helpful and friendly staff. Located in Toowong Village between Grill'd and San Churros. Ample parking space. Ample seating space - indoor and outdoor. Food portion is good and it is delicious. Simple yet so flavoursome. Their menu has lots of vegetarian options too. Highly recommend a visit to Tibetan Kitchen.
They have a different taste of usual looking dishes such as fried noodles and tofu curry. Really refreshing. The tofu curry was a bit too much tangy for me. However noodles were very flavourful.
I had the Goat Curry today, and it was very delicious! I thoroughly enjoyed the goat, and the authenticity of the dish was very great. The raita sauce on the side was also very tasty. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I recommend this to anyone who wants to explore Nepalese cuisine. I can't wait to come back!
As usual with Nepalese place, the Momo was good! The Lamb sekuwa was also good. The restaurant was running low on rice, so they offered us chappati roti was half cooked!! We order 'jhinge machha with aadhuwa' technically jhinge machha is school prawns not the normal prawns!!!
First time trying Tibetan food, I wasn't sure what to expect. The dishes were different than what I expected after reading the description. The taste was good. I really liked the sauce that came with the dumplings. It was some kind of spicy sauce. It took a long while for them to cook our meal. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy. The Buddhist prayer flags hanging from the roof looks nice.
Went for late lunch to this amazing place, all meat halal certified and the staff is super friendly to assure you that it is not cross contaminated Ordered momo for starters, they were amazing and comes with Nepali sauce that makes it taste much better 8/10 Ordered spicy noodles 8/10 not big portion but moderate. Great taste and full of flavour Dessert was a bit of a disappointment though, it was good looking but wasn’t tasty 5/10 Ordered chicken Kathmandu 9/10 amazing creamy sauce with mushrooms in it and comes with veggies and mashed potatoes Ordered TSS steak and THE BEST from the menu : 10/10 great value for the price too Must go, authentic food and great experience
Awesome food and absolutely great services. Made us feel at home. Will definitely visit again and again.... Highly recommended.
This is a homely little restaurant just outside the Toowong Village Shopping Centre, next to Grill’d. We came here on a Sunday evening at around 6pm. There was a smattering of other diners, giving it a bit of atmosphere. I did detect the faint sound of music playing, but it seemed to be the same short tune being played over and over. Maybe this is what Tibetan music sounds like. The place has an interesting roof, decked out in what, at first glance looked like flags, but when I looked closer I could see they were just small pieces of coloured cloth, about the size of napkins, hung together to make a colourful display. Two of us dined and we ordered a peroni $8, Tibetan spring rolls $8, Kathmandu chicken $18 and vegetable curry with sauteed greens, rice and lentil soup $17. The spring rolls were fresh and crispy with a vegetarian filling. My chicken dish was tasty with a nice piece of chunky well cooked chicken and accompanied by creamy mash and fresh vegetables. It was smothered in a lot of white sauce though, making it quite rich, and I felt the effects the next day. The vegetarian curry was neatly presented on a silver platter and had plenty of variety, with different kinds of vegetables, chapati bread and a tangy lentil soup to wash it all down. Serving sizes were quite generous, enough to leave us feeling satisfied afterwards. Being a Sunday night, the centre closed down at 6pm, meaning that we had no access to the toilets, which was quite inconvenient. The sole waitress was friendly, polite and attentive. Our orders were promptly taken, and the drink and food came out quickly and in the right order. Our bill was a modest $50, for the single beer, a single starter and two mains. Overall, we had a pleasant time here. The ambience was laid back, casual and relaxed and the service was professional. The food was fresh and tasty, although my chicken had a tad too much sauce for my liking. Apart from that it all went well.
*UNDER NEW MANAGMENT*. I found out these guys were under new management so went there with a friend for dinner. Menu is still the same but they've added many more authentic options. Portions are a good size and while they are a little pricey, they are well worth it - delicious!!! Pricing is a little more expensive by a few dollars for mains but they are beautiful dishes and so fresh ie approx $5-12 for an entree, $12-20 for a main and $10-15 for desserts. Would still highly recommend coming here. Will be back, very impressed. ----------------- Previous review: "They are doing so well! I have tried all of Toowongs dining options and would rate this restaurant in the top 5. Food was delicious, absolutely delicious! Excellent service, despite what some people are saying in these reviews. waiter took our order with a smile, entree was served within 10 minutes and the mains were served around 15 minutes thereafter. A jug of water was handed to us and we served ourselves. Pricing is excellent and portion sized are great for what you pay approx $5-10 for an entree, $10-15 for a main and $10-15 for desserts. Would highly recommend coming here."
The pakoras and spring rolls were really nice, the Sherpa chicken was also nice but I felt that th ere wasn't much of a flavour to the dish. We also had rice pudding which was average which had an unripe strawberry on top.
