Thrifty Car & Truck Rental Sydney

We were an hour late to pick up our car, but we were never told they close at 12pm. So we lost our car and our money. And our road trip including booked hotels. As all nearby car rentals didn't have cars available. Their hotline was not helpful in finding us a car or any other options.

Would have put 0 stars. Called the day before to change my pick up hour and make sure there's no issue. The employee told me everything was fine and it would be the same price. I come in and another employee (Marty, if it's his real name, who never bothered to say hi and smile) had us wait 20min to tell us it's 100$ more and then blames the 'new' employee for giving me wrong information. We ended up going to Budget.

It’s the second time I’ve had to use Thrifty and on both occasions it’s been a terrible experience. The staff at the office were not on time in arriving at work. It was very inconveniencing and frustrating. It seemed to be the same staff member on both occasions. I’m wondering why the company have not dealt with this issue. Clearly the reviews are consistently poor!!

Car was ok but very unhelpful staff. Waited a long time then was just told to walk round the corner and find some garage in a back alley with the car in, was not there to witness them doing the pre-rental checks. Was not told where to return the car to or what opening hours the return garage had. Had to search for all my own information. Avoid this branch.
