Overall returning the car was a very unpleasant experience. The guy working there insisted on jumping into the car and invading my personal space zero social distancing. When I asked him to wait, he got all intense about it and then when I was ready refused to serve me. There was also a mix up with the booking, despite me receiving two confirmation emails. The girl where I picked it up was really helpful but this end was just not cool.
The wait took longer than my flight the staff were oblivious. Was also made to park the car as I was driving out because "it wasn't my car" only for them to realise they didn't "attach my name correctly", had to wait another 20min. Would have been 1 star were it not for Jim on the desk who was helpful and apologetic.
Bring the car back ten minutes earlier and you'll save a days rental the guy says... so I brought it back 30 mins early......no refund on the card, oh sorry 31 cents! Contacted customer service, over a week later, zilch response. About time these rental companies where taken to task for their ongoing lies. Not the first time we've been lied to by car rental companies. There's a reason why they all in the main, have diabolical reviews.....
I had the worst experience with Trifty. It was the biggest hassle getting my bond back. They look for ways to charge you for the most ridiculous things even after you’ve paid for full insurance. Never again!
Said will refund my bond back and over 3weeks ,I never got any bond refund. They are very doggy and tried to stolen customer's money for forgot to refund the bond

I booked a small car 2 weeks prior by calling Thrifty and was given a fixed price of $221.86 which included a 21% discount. When I arrived to pick the car up at Melbourne Airport the Thrifty Office first tried to give me a large SUV which I rejected. I then spent a good 30 mins before being allocated to a Hyundai I30. There was a sign saying "TRAINING IN PROGRESS WE REQUEST YOUR PATIENCE". I was directed to the vehicle and I found some scratches on the front guards. I was told to take photos on my mobile and all would be good. When I came to return the vehicle to the same Office the person that was dealing with me refused to accept that the scratches were pre existing even though I showed him the photos with date and time. He kept arguing and finally due to my insistance refered me to the Office Management and then proceeded to argue with everyone that wanted to accept my photos as proof. By this time an hour had passed before I was able to leave, which costs my friend who was waiting $12.00 in parking as a result. When I eventually got back to Sydney I got a Tax Invoice from Thrifty charging me for an extra day because the file had been closed well passed the time I was due to return the car which was because of this stubborn iliterate guy that I had to deal with. Thrifty has since told me that they would refund the extra days charge but I have ended up paying more than what I was quoted in the first instance. I dont trust this Company's ethics and people beware dealing with Thrifty. They should have really given me a full refund for all the hassle they put me through. Not even an apology from anyone. This is the standard of their Customer Service, shocking.
