WORST FISH N CHIPS I’VE EVER HAD Got 2 battered blue cod and 1 scoop hand cut chips. $40 worst value for money I have ever spent on food. Waste of money, the fish $17.50 per piece was small and absolutely tasteless and watery obviously frozen so obviously wasn’t fresh. Not convinced it was even Blue Cod In fact the fish was so repulsive I couldn’t finish it. So disappointing. Chips were too big , undercooked and wasn’t like eating chips at all , more like way undercooked roast spuds, NOT worth $6 a scoop by any stretch of the imagination. **********WOULDN’T RECOMMEND **********
Fantastic gluten free options available- suitable for a coeliac. They have a separate fryer for gluten free, can do GF batter for fish, and crumb for the southern fried chicken burger, GF chips, GF burger buns, and GF sauce. Highly recommend.Food: 5/5
Phenomenal fish and curly fries, excellent portion, delicious and fresh! Highly recommend this unassuming little shop, with good music and beer on tap.
So I ordered a Fish burger from here as that was one of the only things on the menu which was halal, if memory serves me well, I was going to order the fish and chips but that was not halal due to being beer battered, I really hope more establishment can be more transparent about using beer batter, ok on a positive note I liked my fish burger it was good and I love chunky chips that's proper British chips lol, and my mate ordered grilled fish with chips, both of our meals were nice. Dietary restrictions: Always check and ask if they beer batter there fish and chips, to which these guys do, beer batter is not halal, the fish burger they don't beer batter so that is halal.
I had the craft beer battered tarakihi which is a fish native to New Zealand and Australian waters. Hand cut chips and a razzle dazzle tap beer. Go early rather than late. Staff worked hard all day and were ready to enjoy the long holiday weekend. Or maybe it's back to the grind the next day. Either way, the frequent exasperated breathes told me it was time to go.
High end presentation boxes and price... low end food quality... awful. Dripping oil from the two boxes. Fish batter wet with oil, chicken tenders like burnt toast... chips the best part.... way off anything called a meal... no more Starfish at New World Thorndon reign Supreme...
Ordered a pork belly burger with some beer battered fries and it was phenomenal! The staff there were so friendly and helpful - shoutout to Harvey for making my burger as well as Eve + Will for serving me! You guys are amazing
Spent $70 at this place.the agria potatoes were not cooked on the inside and so bland and not at all crispy. Had to spit them out. I got a cheese burger and the beef patties inside was still slightly red. Wanted to dine in but we weren't aloud too. Burger was so so so bad. Just go to burger fuel get much better food for your money.
Wow. So much choice! Gluten free battered fish and chips, deep fried battered gluten free chicken pieces AND gluten free burgers with bun. PLUS gluten free beer and great service. I'm coming back to work through the menu!!!Food: 5/5
