Ralph Bergman:
Ralph has owned and operated Think Physio since its inception in 1991. He graduated from Lincoln Institute in 1985 and has worked in private practice since 1987. Throughout this time he has assessed, managed and rehabilitated all types of injuries, resulting in unparalleled clinical experience.
In an earlier life, Ralph played football for Melbourne (Under 19’s & VFL reserves), St.Kilda (VFL reserves), Sandringham (VFA) and finally for St.Kilda-Sth.Caulfield (VAFA). He was a state representative in both the VFA and VAFA.
He is now an ex-footballer who still has a keen interest in football, but plays golf.
Kal Peiris:
Kal graduated from Melbourne University in 2005 and began working at Think Physio in early 2006. Over this time Kal has mixed full time work at the practice with additional positions at local football (AFL) clubs and the Under 12 Victorian Rugby team. This work has led to a special interest in knee and shoulder conditions and sporting injuries in our younger athletes.
As a junior, Kal was a keen basketball and soccer player as well as a Victorian representative in Touch Rugby during his university days. He continues his passion for sport these days as a loyal St Kilda fan and a huge cricket fan (he secretly goes for Sri Lanka)!!
Lauren Starr:
Lauren graduated from La Trobe University in 2013 with a Masters of Physiotherapy Practice after having first completed a Bachelor of Science (Anatomy and Physiology Major) at The University of Melbourne. After a short stint in aged care physiotherapy she decided to pursue her passion in musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
Lauren is a great advocate of clinical pilates and hydrotherapy and uses aspects of these forms of therapy in her daily practice. Lauren completed a Master's project on hydrotherapy and implements the techniques and principles that she learnt in her weekly hydrotherapy sessions.
Outside of physiotherapy Lauren is an avid trail runner and can usually be found running around Lysterfield and the Dandenongs. Weekends are often spent competing in races around Victoria or sometimes further afield.
Lauren's background of triathlon and running has seen her experience many injuries herself and she therefore has a special understanding and empathy for injured athletes. Lauren aims to get people back to their sport and/or normal routine as soon as possible.
Keen Lai:
Keen graduated from La Trobe University in 2013 and has been working with musculoskeletal physiotherapy since. He incorporates a dynamic range of treatment techniques including traction, dry needling, electrotherapy, manual therapy and clinical pilates.
Keen has a special interest in Chronic Pain and has previously been involved with the Albury Wodonga Chronic Pain program. He can help assistive coping and relaxation techniques and implement an exercise regime to improve your exercise capacity.
Furthermore Keen is enthusiastic to explore the incorporation of online media to assist with rehabilitation in today's generation. He was awarded top prize for his MePhysio website, an original idea to provide clinical and professional advice through audio visual means.
Keen keeps busy with following the NBA and plays basketball regularly. He is also the Chairman of Missional Youth, a Christian Ministry that organizes workshops, college, sporting and music events and camps.
