Come anywhere but here. My file slipped through the cracks and I was admitted for no reason. I was placed in the wrong ward then forgotten about then got discharged the next day. The staff are rude and horrible and gaslight you because they don’t know what they’re doing.
Had the absolute displeasure of meeting one of the emergency physicians last night will not name. We quite politely informed him that we would prefer to have a surgery done in Ipswich, purely due to the fact there would be no out of pocket costs as we knew an orthopaedic surgeon there, to which he stated that “doctors who work further away from the GPO are poorly trained, usually from ‘Grifftafe’, and they aren’t really wanted in Brisbane, therefore they go to such areas to practice”. He went on a small rant for several minutes where he put down every doctor who wasn’t trained from the University of Queensland. Not only was this extremely unprofessional, it also goes to show that his prestigious university degree has not bought him any class or bedside manner and he could benefit from some serious humbling. Neither of us responded to his immature and snobby way of speaking about other medical professionals, but both of us left feeling shocked at everything we heard.
Went in at like 4 am for a faint. Asked for water, didn’t get it until my mate rocked up and poured me some. Called the following day to request for a med cert. Never got it. Oh and while I was still dazed and just resting on the bed, woman came in and was talking about prices and stuff. Lady let me rest I just hit my head, don’t recall what’s happening, and am having mad anxiety…
I recently had an overnight ED stay here. The quality of care and prompt service was amazing. Easily worth the fee.
I have had 2 wonderful experience with the prompt and caring treatment of my then 17 month old son. They saw him immediately with a thorough examination and swift treatment each time by 2 different doctors. Well worth the money spent to be seen quickly.
Hit and miss. This place seems to breed emergency doctors with a superiority, god complex. We had a doctor physically and verbally abuse my daughter here with my husband and grandparents watching. The emergency “doctor” denied this but because she didn’t know what was wrong with my daughter she decided to play god with her. Doctors agree to do no harm. If you don’t know the answer “doctors”, then maybe a medical condition or diagnosis hasn’t been found yet and you have NO rights to physically and verbally abuse a patient. My daughter has since received a diagnosis that you missed “doctor”. And to the other doctors in there that we personally have seen in the past who don’t take patients seriously, there are plenty of complex illnesses our there that you may not have learnt yet. Remember what you write in a patients file can have long term implications to their ongoing medical treatment when in fact you just didn’t know the answer or actually don’t have knowledge in that area. The science is NOT settled and REAL, caring doctors DO NO HARM!
This week I have been here on 2 seperate nights and both visits the level of service, professionalism, positivity and care was outstanding. Every person was amazing not only with genuine caring but in personality, happiness, humour and positivity.! Thank you for being AMAZING, CARING & OUTSTANDING!! You really do make a difference thank you.
Following wonderful treatment from Dr Labrom, my wife was woken at 11pm with an elderly lady being brought into the same room, which we expected to be a private room and the lady was screaming and moaning all night so that my wife, who had was recovering from surgery had no sleep. She should really have stayed for a second night but could simply not face it. Would not want my wife or myself to ever use this hospital again
Pretty good as i was very sick but i was in good hands there with the staff
The staff were great and really looked after me.
