The Wellington Courthouse is a cafe, restaurant, museum and bed and breakfast. We also cater for functions, ie weddings, birthdays etc.
The Wellington Courthouse was built in 1864. It was built as a police station, courtroom, post office, and tea rooms. The Courthouse was also used to house prisoners overnight, who being transported between Victoria and South Australia . This was the only location to be used to transport people and livestock via the ferry, which was run be the locals and using horses to pull the ferry. The ferryman's rooms are now used as bed and breakfast rooms. The building is listed by the National Trust and is now privately owned. The Wellington Courthouse has been extensively renovated with a stunning outdoor deck, overlooking the Murray River, beautiful courtyard, dinning and function room. There are 6 bed and breakfast rooms, all luxuriously appointed with their own bathrooms. The Wellington Courthouse can be used for any type of function, from weddings to birthdays.
