Clean and comfortable rooms with great view... Convenient access to supermarket, shops and cafes. Found the manager to be obliging and attentive. Due to a booking error, the manager upgraded our room at no extra cost for our last night and tossed in a complimentary breakfast. Our luggage was moved and waiting for us in our room by time we arrived back later in the day with minimal disruption. One small negative...WiFi wasn't reliable however, this would not be a deterrence from staying at these apartments again.
Great room. Great staff. Terrible internet, terrible phone reception. So if you're staying to relax, go for it it's awesome! If you need to work from home, nope.
Omg was a great place to stay aircon wasn’t working well room did get warm, very quickly I really enjoyed it beautiful and clean swimming pool was amazing very relaxing pity about the restaurant not being open but we walked down to the pub and had a great dinner recommended to stay there so close to everything
The Watson is located in Walkerville, which is a short 10 minute drive to the centre of the city, however the location benefits from a small shopping centre and is in a quiet area within a mainly residential setting. The on-site cafe closed the week of my arrival, however, located less than 100 metres away is Coffee Institute - serving good food and possibly Australia's best coffee.... The service from the reception team was also great. The room layout was suitable for families, singles and business. However... the rooms are starting to show their age with some chips in the furniture and a good clean of behind tv's, balconies etc needed as a fair bit of dust was floating around. Sadly, with the shortage of hospitality staff at the moment, cleaning teams are pushed to their limits meaning that deep cleans are done less frequently. The bathrooms, kitchen and beds were well cleaned. Also- for Accor Loyalty Members- this hotel still takes a refundable deposit on check-in, which when their is not mini-bar, on-site restaurant is something to be aware of. While I expect this when booking through a third party or not through their loyalty program, is something that most properties now simply take a $1 charge to check that the card is working on arrival when a loyalty member. The Watson is a hotel that I look forward to visiting again when in Adelaide- as I generally make 2 or 3 visits a year and the property is overall excellent!
Stayed here for quite a few months back in 2019. Staff and always friendly and helpful and welcoming. Rooms are modern and spacious, hotel is in close proximity to restaurants and supermarkets and for a hotel 10 minutes from the CBD it is peaceful and tranquil. I don't know if James is still employed at the front desk but if he is... give that bloke a raise this instant... what an absolute legend, I'd recommend this hotel to others based on the customer experience he provides alone. My only criticism would be the blinds if you can call them that.... they do absolutely nothing to stop the blinding sun penetrating through the windows every morning and lighting the room up like a Christmas tree.
Really happy with my experience at this hotel. Rooms were clean and quiet. It has this outdoor deck that is pretty neat too. The staff were also super friendly and the check in/out process was fast. Unfortunately I didn't get to experience ask the amenities, but I'm sure they were also well presented. I'll definitely come back.
Newly renovated rooms. Quiet very close to the city. Free Foxtel. Comfy beds, poolRooms: 5/5
We stayed for 8 nights. The view was amazing the apartment was spacious, beds comfortable and perfect vicinity to woolworths, pharmacy, cafes and restaurants. The gym had everything with plenty of room and aircon. Three large lifts meant no waiting to go to upper floors. Friendly staff. Secure entrance. Downside: beware*** washing machine marked and stained our clothes. The unit itself had no cutting board, a very very tiny bin, only minimum kitchen utensils, no salad bowl, no Tupperware, only 3 of: bowls plates, dining chairs, lounge seats. No broom, no brush for dustpan, no vaccum. Carpet got very dirty. This was not ideal for a weeks stay. I dont mind not having the above but when you are paying 5star rates one would expect the minimum. On mentioning no broom or cutting board to the front desk the reply was that it's not up to them its up to the owner of the apartment itself.
Excellent property, great size rooms in a handy location, staff are helpful. The biggest drawback is they clean the room only once a week though they are happy to change towels and replenish toiletries. The mirrorbacked counter in the bathroom gets dirty with the way it has been designed and guests don't take a holiday and expect to clean. They should provide full service for a daily rate of $200+. The rating on service does not reflect on the staff but the property's policy on once a week housekeeping service.
The room was nice and has a lovely view over the Adelaide Hills/Adelaide. The pool was very nice, and didn't have an awful amount of chlorine, or feel awful when you inevitably get it in the eyes. I consider this a massive positive. Amenities were good. The two staff I interacted with on check in and check out were super nice and very helpful. I love the artwork and the ambiance of this place. I knew going in that I was not getting house keeping for my two nights, which is fine I don't need it for two nights. I do however, expect things to be clean when I arrive. The tea cups and plates in the room were covered in dust and did not look like they have been cleaned in a while. In the microwave there was food remnants all over the plate cover the thing you put over plates so it doesn't splash everywhere. The bed in my room was awful. It sagged very obviously on the sides and had a lump in the middle. But hey, I've slept in worse and it wasn't so bad on the second night as I found the sweet spot. So positives!
